  Food Lion in Norwood has the worst pickup service I’ve ever experienced. 50% of the time I have an issue with the order. They will say they are out of something and give me some off-the-wall replacement item (if they even replace at all). A couple times I have gone back because what they gave me was not even close enough that I could use it and then find the exact item I requested on the shelf. They had it all along, just didn’t want to look for it. One time, even though I was the only one there for pickup, I waited ten minutes and had to call to get someone to come out. Today was the last time I will ever do pickup with them. I waited ten minutes, again only one there, called, no answer, had to go in the store to get someone. What should have been a 15 minute trip max there and back took me almost 40 by the time they were finished with all the excuses blaming corporate and lame and empty apologies. I could have gone to Albemarle Walmart and back in 40 minutes, wait less than five minutes, and have a much larger order. Norwood Food Lion will be a quick trip from now on when I only need one or two things.

  I just want to share what a great experience I had today at the Food Lion in Norwood. We moved here about a year ago and Norwood is just an awesome place to live! Everyone is so friendly and helpful! Today, on my first venture out shopping since surgery last week to fix my broken arm everyone at Food Lion was super helpful and concerned. Amy offered prayers, a stocker politely reached several things I could not, and Mason, not only did he ring up my groceries, he walked me out to my car and placed everything in my car with good conversation. Such a nice young man! Our community is blessed!

  I normally do not leave reviews, but my experience with Jackie, the manager at Food Lion, was extremely disappointing. She came across as rude, snarky, and very unhelpful during a simple customer interaction. Customer service should make people feel respected and valued, and unfortunately that was not the case at all. I understand everyone has stressful days, but the attitude and lack of professionalism were unnecessary. I truly believe some additional customer service training would be beneficial.

  I'd drive to the next one if I were yall. They tend to be understaffed and the few staff they do have are rude as hell. Don't waste your time doing to go orders either as apparently no one works in that department. Twice my order has been past my pickup windows and hadn't even been started. I was asked to hang out in the parking lot for an hour 🙃 and then told there were 3 orders in front of me. I ended having to cancel and do it myself. 2nd time around was the same thing. Why accept orders you are unable to fulfill?
