  Been there a few times now, and the staff doesn’t seem to take their job seriously. They’re too busy chitchatting. By the time I get my frozen drink, it’s not frozen.

  We regularly visit 7 Brew Coffee in New Bern NC and have always had great experiences, which is why this visit was so disappointing and why I’m writing this review. Right away, we noticed that the usual staff members we normally see — who are always very friendly and helpful — were not there. Honestly, I feel confident this situation would not have happened if they had been. Our order was made incorrectly, and when the drink was taken back to be corrected, we watched one of the employees scoop the top of the drink out with her bare hand, sling it off, then lick her fingers before the drink was re-topped and brought back to us. We immediately asked for a completely new drink and explained that we had seen what happened. The drink was remade, but what made the situation even worse was the employee’s reaction — she smirked and appeared to think the situation was funny, while the other employees looked embarrassed and uncomfortable. We understand that mistakes happen, but basic hygiene and professionalism should never be compromised, especially in food service. This experience was extremely disappointing from a place we have always enjoyed supporting.
