  I had a disappointing experience at Food Lion today. I shop at this location almost every day and regularly use the self-checkout area. There is an employee who works in that section who has never greeted me or acknowledged me as a customer. Today was the first time she spoke to me, and unfortunately it was to publicly question whether I had a receipt for a drink. She did this in front of several other customers, which I found embarrassing and unnecessary. I don’t believe this is racially charged however, I do wonder why I was singled out. I understand that employees have a job to do and may need to verify purchases, but situations like this should be handled professionally and discreetly. I would also encourage management to remind employees of the importance of greeting and treating all customers with courtesy and respect. This experience left me feeling singled out and uncomfortable, and I hope it can be used as an opportunity for improvement.
