Bojangles is a staple in the area, and there are things about Bojangles that truly separates them from their competitors.
So how can a franchise restaurant that already serves good food stand out, not only amongst it's brand competitors, but also against it's other stores? Service.
The people behind the counter are what make this Bojangles (Hwy 221) stand out from amongst the other Bojangles.
No matter who has been on the other side of the counter at this location, they've always been courteous, polite, and friendly.
Who, and how, the people are behind the counter, is a direct reflection of the Store manager, and the shift managers.
They not only decide who works behind that counter, but also how they conduct themselves and how they work together, and how they treat customers.
The best managers always have heart. They have the heart to build the team, protect their team, and to help customers in ways that often go beyond their job description.
I met one of those managers today.
I had had a rough few days at work, and yesterday, going through the drive through, I left my debit card with the young lady at the drive thru. Didn't get home til after 9, woke up this morning started all over again, and it wasn't until 1pm when I realized I didn't have it. I also realized Bojangles was the last place I used it.
I considered turning off the card, having another one sent out, which takes weeks and can be a hassle.
I called the store, and they still had my card.
I came by to pick it up and it being 2pm, I was ready to eat so I ordered me some food, while we conversated a little bit. I mentioned i had a rough day yesterday and my mind just wasn't on remembering to get my card.
After I placed my ordered, she swiped her manager card. I almost didn't realize at first. I thought she was swiping it to fix something the employee did.
She told me to have a blessed day and smiled.
Now you might read this and think that ain't no big deal, but let me tell you, when you're in a valley, and you've been fighting, and you've been praying, and you just get tired at every battle every day around every corner . . . it matters.
It makes you stop a second.
This world is flying by and it keeps you so busy you hardly have time to stand still anymore, and in the middle of your valley, someone chooses to do something nice like that. It matters.
They care, and that matters.
I don't know how to thank her yet, but I needed that.
I want everyone to know that the kind-hearted people are still out there, and one of them works at this store.
