I generally have a positive experience at this Food Lion, but unfortunately, my recent visit was disappointing. At the time I was checking out, there were only two employees working registers despite several customers waiting to pay. I approached one of the registers and began placing my items on the belt. After I had already unloaded my items, the cashier informed me that her register was closed. I understand that employees have to close their registers at certain times, but I felt this could have been communicated to me before I unloaded my groceries. Since the cashier saw me approaching and placing my items on the belt, a simple “I’m sorry, this register is closing” beforehand would have saved me the inconvenience of having to gather everything back up and move to another line. What made the situation more frustrating was that there was then only one register open while multiple customers were trying to check out, despite several other registers being available. I like shopping at this Food Lion and believe it is a good store overall. However, I hope management will consider improving communication with customers when registers are closing and ensuring adequate checkout coverage during busy periods. A little more attention to customer service in situations like this would make a big difference.

Disabled man Couldn't even park in the place I was clearly waiting for because a lazy employee wanted the first parking spot closest to the building.
