I am writing to share a disappointing customer service experience at my local Food Lion. As a regular customer who lives nearby, I rely on this location for my weekly needs. However, the service level during my visit tonight at approximately 9:00 PM fell well below acceptable standards. After spending nearly $100 on groceries following a long day at work, the cashier finished scanning my items and simply left them on the counter, expecting me to load my own cart. When I asked if loading assistance is no longer provided, the cashier responded not usually. So now a paying customers is supposed to perform a cashiers job even when we do not work there, unacceptable, especially when choosing a traditional checkout lane over self-checkout specifically to receive full service. Just to point out that customer service and basic courtesy are essential. I hope you will address this with the staff so that regular shoppers are treated with professionalism and respect moving forward.

Absolutely the worst location I have ever visited. Shelves are always empty and not stocked. They almost never have more than one register open and funnel everyone through the self checkout. It’s clearly obvious that the management team is not the best and is lacking quality training. Have to go three and four times to fill a complete shopping list. Ridiculous!

Bad customer service and communication to customers. Asian store associate not only was rude but threatened to have me arrested for trespassing because I was trying to finish up my list while they were closing. I understand they were closing but the total lack of respect is not worth coming back. Walmart has better prices and service in comparison.

Food Lion now takes better care of people that order online than they do of those who come in to the store. Went in to pick up a few things around 9:00 at night. Admittedly late for grocery shopping. There were four customers ringing themselves up and zero cashiers. It’s been like this way too often since they remodeled the store. It’s not much better at Walmart down the street, but at least they had one cashier available. When people have to help themselves check out, it’s no surprise that some are helping themselves to free groceries in the process. Please take notes from your competitors: keep a few cashiers available for people that come to spend hundreds of dollars on cart loads of groceries at your store.
