We stopped here on our way up to Boone and were so glad we did! The food was great but what really made it a great experience was our server Vicky. She was so friendly and gave great recommendations on what to order. She was very attentive and made us feel like we were the only table she had. I got the Whistle blower BLT and the fried green tomatoes on the sandwich made it so much better than the typical BLT. My husband got the chili and you could tell it was freshly homemade. If we’re ever back in the area it’s definitely on the list to come back to. 10/10!

Every time I've come to the 1841 Cafe, I've had a wonderful time and a terrific meal. It's our first choice stop any time we're in the area--which is as often as possible! It is a welcoming atmosphere, great ambience, and we have never, ever been disappointed! Personally, I love the "yellow jacket" with sweet potato fries. It's delicious! And don't forget dessert, especially if red wine cake is available!

The most unorganized, I have ever seen.We had a birthday party there . The food buffet was not set up,had to wait for them to get ready.Short staffed, not very nice people ,service was not that good. Asked three time for lemonade, which they ran out of.No forks on table, had to ask for some. Then putting up decorations, owner NEVER came around ,didnt acknowledge, we were even there. When person came in room to surprise, owner's mother came in first, pushing a walker. Messed up all the pictures,,and owner was going back and foward,so she was in pictures Some of the food was still red inside of it,not cooked.Total mess, unorganized, unprofessional, Called several time to talk with owner,to talk about price,Never returned calls.Price was a joke, way to much for service and inconvenience we had to put up with. Will never go there again.

We went to Cafe 1841 on a raining Saturday night. My husband likes to stick to his same few restaurants that he keeps going to, so he wasn't excited about his wife wanting to try something new. We were welcomed by the nicest employees. Our food was excellent. My husband and son got burgers and they thought it was wonderful. I tried their shaved steak sandwich with sweet potato fries that comes very a unique dipping sauce. It was all delicious! When I say the service was excellent, they went over the top. Our drinks were never low, we had other employees asking how our food was. My son got some motivation and inside tricks to winning a stuffed animal and left with a red fox. We will definitely be going back to this restaurant in the future!

I was in town on a business trip and wanted to find a cool local spot to eat. I ordered mine to go, but I had a little wait at the bar while they got my food ready. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Great customer service. The food I ordered was pretty a pretty standard patty melt with a side of okra. No complaints at all. I ordered the corn fritter appetizer, and the portion size was awesome for the price. They have a full bar, but it could still be a cool place to bring your family. I enjoyed the vintage decor. Definitely worth stopping in here for a meal if you are in the area!
