  My thirteen year old was in the store with his grandmother and little brother Saturday Oct. 11,2026 around 8pm. While in self checkout, the worker approached my kid and accused him of stealing gum and asked him to empty his pocket, of which he only had his phone. Not once did she speak to the ADULT with him just my kid. I am in there about once a week, normally with my children. A couple weeks ago, while I was in line, multiple cashiers were arguing with each other switching out and using foul language at one of their senselessly thought out tiny lanes after being told I couldn’t self checkout. The store being new and shiny won’t keep customers with the lack of customer service present. May be worth the extra mile or so to go to the other one.

  I am writing to formally complain about an employee I believe is named Marcas (quite tall and ignorant) at this location. During my visit, I witnessed him openly mocking a young child, using demeaning language and laughing at them while they were clearly distressed. His behavior was unprofessional and completely unacceptable in a place of business.This location use too be a go too for my family when it first opened it was a family friendly environment the workers actually gave a damn about their community. I will not be shopping here again until this issue is addressed.

  I usually go to Walmarts because it is closer & cheaper. Decided to stop at Food Lion for a few items. Have always received great customer service and they always had several check out lines open. Now they have one check out & the rest self serve. Needless to say if I have to check out my own groceries I will only go to Walmarts & get the cheaper price. I think you have really made a mistake taking away check out lines.
