I had an extremely unpleasant experience at this Food Lion and was very disappointed by the lack of customer service and professionalism.
My Husband and I were two separate customers who came into the store about five minutes apart. He had completed a cash-back transaction and was outside on the phone before coming in. When it was my turn to check out, I also needed to do a cash-back transaction. Without saying anything to me or asking me a single question, the self-checkout employee immediately came over and attempted to cancel my transaction because my Husband had just completed one.
I understand that employees may have policies they need to follow regarding cash-back transactions, but there is absolutely no excuse for how this situation was handled. Rather than simply speaking to me and explaining the issue, she came within inches of my face and physically bumped into me while attempting to cancel a transaction involving my money. I found her behavior extremely invasive, intimidating, and completely inappropriate.
Customer service means communicating with customers respectfully, especially when there is a question or concern about a transaction. I should not have had to deal with someone physically entering my personal space or touching/bumping into me without even speaking to me first.
This experience was incredibly uncomfortable and left me feeling disrespected. I will not be returning to this location. Without an apology from this employe & Management should seriously address how employees are expected to communicate with customers and respect their personal space, particularly at the self-checkout.
Too often old people in these jobs think their age equates to some form entitled respect or that they're just correct in all situations. It's absurd an elder adult would act so immature and childlike in handling a situation. She stood at the customer service counter and said nothing the entire time, we were the only people checking out so instead of bum rushing a woman from behind, she could have said something before the transaction was even started but she chose not too.

Only thing that bothered me was when I was right beside the guy working in the meat department I spoke to him nothing so I thought hum so I spoke to him again I said good morning I barely heard anything I later heard him talking to someone I kinda thought that was rude but the 79 year old cashier was super nice she told me she was retiring before 80 in to weeks I thought that was awesome and going to go see the Grand canyon

What is wrong with the carts here? I dont know if the sensors are off on the anti-theft devices but I rarely get a cart that smoothly rolls throughout the store. I am pissed off almost every time I shop here because its hard to get a cart that works. Further, the workers ignore you while theyre stocking, which i get it, they probably dont get paid enough and i wouldn't want to bother them but they leave all their equipment splayed out across the aisle so customers can't get to the items they need. To add insult to injury, you end up paying $50 for not even half a weeks groceries. Not that that's exactly food lions fault but you remind yourself your shopping here instead of whole foods or fresh market or lowes or harris teeter to save a couple cents and the gas to get there and everything just adds insult to injury.
