    Really disappointing experience at Topgolf. I came with a group of friends expecting a fun night, but the service completely ruined it. We booked a bay for an hour and 30 minutes, and it took forever just to get helped. We didn’t even get a waiter until around 30 minutes into our reservation. After that, drinks and food took so long that by the time everything finally arrived, we only had about five minutes left to actually golf and enjoy ourselves. To make it worse, several drinks were made incorrectly and tasted nothing like what we ordered, so people had to reorder drinks they didn’t even want anymore. The food finally came out after all that waiting and wasn’t even warm. After waiting that long, you’d at least expect fresh, hot food. We asked if they could extend our time by even 30 minutes so we could actually eat and play since most of our reservation was wasted waiting on service, but they refused and did absolutely nothing to make up for the experience. The golfing itself is fun, but the customer service and overall management were terrible. For how expensive this place is, the experience was nowhere near worth the money. Definitely would not recommend!

    Mother’s Day Fail. Made a reservation for a bay. They couldn’t find it in the system despite me giving them the order number in the email they sent me. They were understaffed (as always) and the kitchen was closed. The screen was glitchy, but it was such a hassle for them to even find our reservation we played in the bad anyway. While it’s always been questionable, this place just doesn’t care about the customer experience anymore.

    For a first-time visit with a group of four, I left feeling fairly indifferent overall. After reading other reviews, I have to agree that the food and golfing are what make up for the subpar hospitality. The greeter at the entrance was genuinely the only employee who stood out in a positive way. His passion and professionalism were obvious and created a great first impression! Unfortunately, the experience declined from there. The front desk attendant was informative, but not particularly welcoming. Ordering food felt unnecessarily difficult due to inattentive staff, a lack of urgency, and short interactions with guests. Even members of leadership/management appeared disengaged. Our server only checked on us twice, once for drinks and once to collect payment. The food and golfing experience were enjoyable, but for the price point, the level of service simply did not match expectations. For a venue marketed as a premium experience, the hospitality felt far below standard. Unfortunately, I do not see myself returning. For those who do plan on visiting, though, I highly suggest making reservations!

    First time here. Started off great. Front desk was friendly & knowledgeable. We booked using the app so we just had to be assigned a bay. Top floor, great view, fun golf games. Server slowly came over took our drink order & got them entirely wrong. Didn’t take them off the check. I tried ordering a drink from the menu & it was gross. That one was removed from check. The pretzels were hot & delicious. The server didn’t buss our table until we left. Watched her “clean” the table next to us after that group left. Plates that were not used were not removed from table before spraying the cleaning solution so that misted onto the plates for the next group to use. Fortunately, we didn’t have to pay the $12 for 2 lifetime memberships.

    So have been to many Top Golf’s over the years, believe this is my second time here in Durham since it opened and will think long and hard about returning. Made online reservation via app, thinking if you do all those things right would be setting up for smooth experience. To start off, you walk in to the check-in or ‘greeting’ and with little to no energy nor care am told “you will get a text when your bay is ready”. Barely looked at me. Bay assignment comes 20+ minutes after scheduled start time. Ok, it’s a Saturday night, it was busy, I get it. We arrive at bay and they barely had it cleaned up and ready. We start hitting balls, server nowhere to be found for at least 15 minutes or more. We order food and continue hitting balls when I happen to notice we only have about 30 minutes left in our reservation??? Seems strange and after some quick math determine they were ‘counting’ the 20-ish minute delay in our time. I flag down server to politely let her know of the error and her first response is “yeah, that’s the issue with making reservations…..” Stopped her right there and asked for manager. After a bit of haggling (why? I reserved 90 minutes and your scheduling issues are not my problem) he made it seem like he was doing us a favor by extending the time. Really not that hard to decipher what the right thing to do for customer is, is it? I will wrap up with took 50 minutes for a draft beer and glass of wine and all our food (apps, entrees) came out at once about an hour after us ordering. Pro Tip: You certainly missed out on at minimum of two more drinks ordered and at least us thinking about desert but we ran out of time. Will think long and hard about going back. Update 4/26/26: despite TG inviting me to complete their complaint form (which I did same day) still have not heard from them. PE ownership at its finest.
