A hidden (meaning off the main drag, not hidden from word of mouth) gem of tasty Creole/Louisiana cuisine. Think gumbos and red beans and rice, rather than fried chicken and dumplins. The interior was a vibe, lots of jazzy art on the walls. There was a nice outdoor terrace, too.
The food was overall very enjoyable. The red beans and rice had a deep savory taste; the catfish po'boy was filled with two big, crisp filets of fish and accompanied by crispy smashed potatoes; the brisket empanada was stuffed with tender, delicious meat (I did wish it came with more than one, however).
The eponymous succotash was nice, if a little boring in its flavor compared to the delicious other dishes.
Family friendly, kids menus and coloring available.

Went for Mother's Day brunch with my parents and had a great experience. I don't generally make a point to review places but, having worked in the industry, I know what a positive one can do so I felt compelled to give them a boost. We sat outside, the atmosphere was really pleasant (it didn't hurt that it was a stunningly beautiful day), and the food was really yummy. But what put it over the edge in terms of my decision to leave a review was the overall warmth of the staff. Not to be woo woo or whatever but some places just have bad vibes; the opposite is true for Succotash. Our server in particular was so incredibly pleasant and his demeanor was exactly the type of energy that makes people feel welcome. It was just really nice to have such a kind-hearted person contributing to a great day for my mom :) And the food really was great - I had a hard time deciding what to get but I guess that just means I'll be going back to try it all! Also as someone who is always on the lookout for third spaces, this seems like a great place to sit at the bar and do some work over a leisurely lunch - assuming they aren't slammed and you're not taking up precious real estate. OK I've rambled enough; TLDR: it's great and you should go!

This place was really good. Went for Sunday brunch. Order the fried green tomatoes and a mango mimosa. They were really busy but our waiter was great.

Went here for the first time 18APR2026. Walking distance from my Buddy's place. This will be the first of many. Plan to check out something else each visit. Started off with the fried Brussels Sprouts - AWESOME! I had the Chicken Gumbo and then Jambalaya. Second thought, I enjoyed them so much, will have again on my next visit. Didn't make reservations, so we took a table outside on the deck. They had live music inside in the back. Staff was very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend checking this place out. Let me start off by saying the food and atmosphere were amazing. We had had food from the food truck when it was active so we knew it would be. We both had specials. Mine was the blackened haddock over charred asparagus with crispy potatoes. My husband had the pan seared scallops with andouille sausage. crab, and shrimp over rice. Both dishes were absolutely outstanding. I also HIGHLY recommend the fried bananas foster. I would always get it from the food truck and it is a definite must have and hands down one of the best desserts I have ever had.
Now on to the service.
Not knowing we would need a reservation(every inside table had a reservation sign on it) on a Thursday night, we stopped in while on that side of town. We walked in and were asked if we had a reservation and said no and were told they may only have outdoor seats. We said we were fine with that and he took us outside to what I would describe as a cafe table. There was another table open and we asked to sit there as it was a little larger. He said he needed to check the reservation and would let us know. Apparently the reservation did not show or could be seated elsewhere. There was another couple that came in a couple of minutes behind us, the server came out, walked right past us and over to them. Not sure what happened but when she took their drink orders and turned around she seemed startled we were there and said have you been greeted yet. We said we had been seated and she asked what we wanted to drink and fortunately because we had heard her server tell the other couple the specials we already knew what we wanted. Our drinks arrived quickly and it took about 30 minutes to receive our food.
I am assuming it was not communicated to our server that she had a tablebut she did a great job of taking care of us.
