Bonefish Grill has a wonderful bar staff and an equally talented wait staff. They really take care of customers by how attentive they are. Great specials on weeknights and a lively crowd.

My family and I went to Bonefish Grill in Durham on a Sunday for what we hoped would be a nice brunch. Unfortunately, it turned into one of those meals where everyone at the table starts looking around wondering if anyone else is enjoying their food. The food was rough. The breakfast potatoes were so overcooked and dry that I am pretty sure they had seen things no potato should ever have to see. The Eggs Benedict was even more confusing. The eggs were cooked all the way through like hard boiled eggs. When you order Eggs Benedict, you expect a nice runny yolk, not an Easter egg. The service was fine and our server was pleasant, but the pace was painfully slow. It took a very long time for the food to come out, which only made it more disappointing once it finally arrived. Brunch is served from 11 to 3, but I would personally skip it. It is expensive and Durham has way too many great brunch spots to settle for this. We came looking for a relaxing Sunday brunch with family and left wishing we had picked just about anywhere else. I will give credit where it is due though. The $5 mimosa deal was actually pretty good and probably ended up being the highlight of the meal. Maybe stick to dinner here, because brunch was definitely not the move.

We dined there yesterday. The location, ambience, and food were fine overall. The main issue was the server who attended us. He came across as overconfident, talked too much, and didn’t listen carefully. Several mistakes were made: one order was not taken, the salad came without chicken, and we had to remind him about the bread that was supposed to be served as an appetizer. When we pointed out the missed items, he became defensive. As a result of these service issues, the dinner experience was not smooth. I hope the restaurant ensures that customers are properly taken care of.

Stopped by for some long overdue Bang Bang Shrimp. Sat at the bar for quick service. Excellent Old Fashioned cocktail prepared by bartender Nicole. She is engaging, professional and attentive. The Bang Bang Shrimp had no “Bang” in it. The flavor was there just not the spice I’m used to.

Unfortunately this company has lost its core principles of delivering good quality food in a decent timely manner. 30 minutes for an appetizer of bang bang shrimp which resembled burnt end tips followed by two lobster tails which would have been able to be used to tow the Titanic. Completely overcooked rubber bands. Lastly DEI hire management is completely useless as I made a statement of I guess you're short staffed or hiring incompetent cooks and she shrugged me off. Shrimps were comped but should have been compensated for dining in this what should be called a fast food joint. Gave the waitress a 24% tip for a dinner i never had. Please rethink your plans if you value good food.
