Unfortunately, a very disappointing experience.
We arrived just after 6 PM as a party of four, and the restaurant was not particularly busy. We ordered drinks and appetizers immediately, along with one pizza, a pasta, and a side Caesar salad.
Everyone’s drinks arrived except my fresh-squeezed lemonade. After waiting and asking about it, it finally came. I took a large sip and almost gagged, it was straight lemon juice, water and salt. My husband tried it and nearly coughed it back up. When we returned it, our server told us the entire batch had apparently been ruined by whoever made it that morning. If they already knew the batch was bad, why was it still being served after 6 PM?
Our appetizers took about 25 minutes. The cheese on the focaccia had a funky taste, and the spinach-artichoke dip was mostly huge chunks of artichoke and extremely salty.
A party of seven was seated about 15 minutes after us. At the 45-minute mark, we still had no salad, pizza, or pasta. We asked our server to check because we were ready to pay and leave. We could see him speaking with the kitchen, then watched him pick up food from the line, and take it to the 7-top that arrived after us.
That was it for us. Another nearby table that had also arrived before the 7-top decided to tab out and leave at the same time.
A supervisor came over and apologized, saying they had suddenly “gotten slammed,” but that didn’t match what we had observed. There were relatively few occupied tables when we arrived, and a 7-top seated well after us was served before two tables that were already waiting.
The supervisor removed the pizza and bad lemonade from our bill. As we were paying, our food finally arrived, about an hour after we walked in, so we had it boxed.
On the drive home, none of our stomachs felt right after what we had eaten, so we ultimately threw the remaining food away.
I understand restaurants have bad nights, but between knowingly serving a bad batch of lemonade, poor food quality, extremely slow service, and serving a large table that arrived after us first, this was beyond an ordinary busy-night delay. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning.
