I always shop at this store. It is my neighborhood Food Lion. However, since they have updated their store, hoping you will checkout your own groceries, customer service has been depleted. Gone. No more. I use to love the interaction with the cashiers. They are gone. Maybe one will be open at a time ( every time I have been there recently since said change). Sometimes there are a line of employees just standing there waiting to help if the customers checking out their "own" groceries need some help. They are all talking to each other. While we, customers, are doing their jobs. Their kiosk, touting savings is broken. Why have it there. Been like this for weeks. Implementing something new and it doesn't work? Today very sad experience. Needed help with something, asked employee for help. He did, but no conversation, no smile, nothing. Was not sure, my request was taken care of until the end because he never spoke to me about it. Food Lion, change is needed, I am sure, but you can do better. No contact with your customers, will cause you to lose. I will continue to shop FL, just not this one. If the others follow suit, I will no longer be a FL shopper.

My personal opinion, I feel like they should have just kept the cash registered and allowed the workers to scan our items because at self checkout, they make you feel so uncomfortable. Like, you don't even want the stuff at that point! They say on your back, They don't give you room to breathe. You would think that they're getting paid to be security guards. They are watching you harder than a sheriff with the scanner checking your speed. Like, ma'am, relax, they're not paying you enough to breathe down my back. You did not pay for anything in this store. This is not your store, relax. They have cameras 📷

They are working through an update making up the mechanical difficulties with professional and courteous customer service.
