  I’m giving it a 2 stars just to be nice. There’s a list of problems but I’m going to only comment on one which is my main problem because I’ve never stolen anything out of food lion not even a piece of gum. If I wanted to steal I wouldn’t do it at my neighborhood food lion that I come to often. Now I know I come with a recycling bag, God forbid I wanted to save plastic. I also shop at Aldis first which is directly across the street. I do all of my shopping in one day & I do not drive at the moment which is why I come with my recycling bag already full but I make sure I tie it close & I never reach in because I don’t want any confusions. My first encounter with an employee, I did my shopping, waited for my uber for about 15 mins in front of the building. As soon as I’m getting in a young man who grabs carts literally ran out the door while my uber driver was helping me put my bags in the car & asked for my receipt because his manager (customer service manager) was implying that I was stealing which was extremely embarrassing in front of the driver who literally stopped helping me & got into the car. I told them to run the cameras which they should’ve done before they even sent him out to me. & every other time I come in they watch me like a hawk. This time I literally watched her scan my cart when I walked in & the next thing I know loss prevention came out to the circle the store maybe a good 8 times. Every time I looked up he was back around, I’ve NEVER seen that. I went to pay & he literally stood in the front until I was done. I paid & went outside to wait on my uber & he walked out maybe 3 mins after me to go on break. Waited 10 more mins for my uber, while I’m getting in there were 2 or 3 employee eyes on me when I looked up smh & one being the customer service manager walking passed the door. She see me all the time but I guess she’s waiting to “catch me”. Again if I wanted to steal I would go to another food lion, I come here all the time. So I will not be doing any big shopping here anymore. If I want 1 or 2 things maybe I’ll consider but I don’t even want to do that. This food lion is convenient which upsets me to have to shop elsewhere but it’s makes me extremely uncomfortable & I feel very judged so I rather do that instead of calling anyone out.

  0 stars if I could this is a store that should close!!!! Margaret and Toni are both rude, old, and incompetent — exactly why there should be an age limit for working. If you cannot respect customers and be helpful, you should not be employed. As a customer, I should not have to be met with attitude, wait for them to finish their personal banter before ringing up customers, or deal with rude remarks like “you can’t speak,” as if I’m not a patron of the establishment. This is a key indicator of a lack of management, training, and understanding of what Food Lion’s values are. On top of that, it’s honestly insane that I went through a cashier checkout and still had the cart lock, then had to have my receipt checked item by item, making the entire shopping experience even longer than it had to be. I needed 5 items — it should not have taken almost 30 minutes because the staff has no sense of urgency. They all just want to beat the clock and have a good time, with no understanding of what the store’s goals are or what the purpose of their role is.
