Here is my review of dinner at Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse in Charlotte, and the entire experience was outstanding!
The food was exactly what you expect from a high-end steakhouse. The steaks were cooked perfectly, well seasoned, and had a great crust while still being incredibly tender. The lobster mac & cheese is absolutely worth ordering, rich without being overdone and definitely made for sharing. The sides were excellent across the board, and you really can't go wrong finishing dinner with the amazing Butter Cake.
What really made the night stand out was the service.
Sidney was our server and did a fantastic job. Attentive without hovering, knowledgeable about the menu, and kept everything moving at exactly the right pace. That's what good fine-dining service should feel like.
Kim, the manager, also came by our table and really topped off the night. She took the time to check on us and genuinely made us feel welcome. That kind of personal attention from management makes a difference and says a lot about how the restaurant is being run.
Great food can get you in the door, but hospitality is what makes you come back. Sidney and Kim absolutely nailed it.
Excellent dinner for two and easily a 5-star experience. We'll definitely be back. 🥩🍷
My experience at Del Frisco's in Charlotte, NC, was nothing short of extraordinary from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere was very nice, calm, and upscale, creating a relaxed yet sophisticated environment that makes for a truly wonderful dining experience.
A massive part of why our evening was so memorable comes down to our incredible waitress, Kaitlin. Her service was attentive, warm, and professional throughout the entire night. She guided us through the menu with expert knowledge and ensured every detail of our meal was flawlessly executed.
The Culinary Breakdown
Every single course was prepared to absolute perfection:
Appetizer – Wagyu Meatball: Rich, incredibly tender, and packed with deep savory flavor. It was baked to a golden finish on the outside while maintaining an ultra-juicy center, served in a rich, slow-simmered marinara sauce topped with freshly grated parmesan.
Entrées:
Surf and Turf: The steak was seared precisely to our requested medium-rare, boasting a gorgeous, savory crust with a warm, pink, melt-in-your-mouth center. Paired with a buttery, perfectly broiled lobster tail that was sweet, tender, and cooked without a trace of rubberiness.
Double Bone-In Lamb Chops: Expertly trimmed and grilled to a tender medium, delivering a rich, robust flavor enhanced by a delicate herb-and-garlic crust that locked in all the natural juices.
Sides:
Roasted Broccolini: Roasted at a high heat to achieve tender stalks with lightly charred, crispy edges, tossed in garlic and a hint of lemon that provided a bright, fresh contrast to the rich meats.
Lobster Mac and Cheese: Decadent and comforting. The cavatappi pasta was coated in a velvety, multi-cheese cream sauce infused with rich lobster flavor, loaded with generous chunks of sweet lobster meat, and finished with a golden, toasted breadcrumb crust.
Dessert – Beignet: Light, airy, and fried to a delicate golden crisp on the outside while remaining pillowy soft on the inside. Dusted generously with powdered sugar and served warm, it was the ultimate sweet note to finish off an incredible meal.
