Biryani Maxx had fairly average Indian food in a semi-casual dining room setting. Of the three dishes I tried of goat, fish, and chicken, the chicken was the best of the three. I was told by a friend that they have somewhat authentic South Indian fare here, so I thought I'd give it a try.
Food: 3.7/5
The Gongura Mutton (goat) had a fairly good sauce, but the meat wasn't very lean and was cooked with a lot of bones. While this may be a traditional way of cooking this, I was not a huge fan. (3/5) The Kerala fish curry was good but the fish was a little dry and didn't taste the freshest. (3.5/5) The best of the three dishes was the chicken tikka masala, which had a delicious sauce and tender chicken. (4/5) The butter naan was hot and fresh, though slightly tough for my liking. (3.5/5) Finally the rasmalai dessert was a bit like ricotta cheese in sweet milk, which was enjoyable. (4/5) Also the mango lassi wasn't too sweet and was decently balanced with tanginess. (4/5)
Value: 3/5
For the level of freshness and preparation of the food, I felt it was priced slightly too high, around $20 per entrée. I've gotten much better quality for the same pricepoint at Nawab in Winston-Salem.
Service: 4/5
The server was very polite and attentive. I only wish I didn't need to ask for a spoon and a knife as forks were the only utensils served.
Wait: 4/5
Moderate wait, about what you might expect, roughly 20 minutes once we ordered.
Atmosphere: 3.5/5
I wasn't terribly impressed by the dining area, which seemed to lack Indian character and wasn't as comfortable or inviting as it could have been. They also had the dreaded bench booths with rows of adjacent tables and chairs, which fortunately wasn't terrible as it wasn't too busy. On the upside the décor appeared fairly new, and it was clean.
Total Score: 3.6/5
I think the food at Biryani Maxx is worth a try if you're in the area for some tasty dishes in a casual setting. However if you are looking for the best Indian food in town, you may want to look elsewhere.

I had lunch today at in Cary, NC, and it was an amazing experience. I ordered the biryani, and it was one of the best I've had in the Triangle area. The rice was perfectly cooked, fragrant, and packed with authentic spices, while the chicken was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Every bite tasted fresh and delicious.
The portion size was generous and definitely worth the price. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and made sure everything was served quickly. The restaurant was clean, comfortable, and had a pleasant atmosphere.
If you're craving authentic Hyderabadi-style biryani or flavorful Indian food, I highly recommend Biryani Maxx in Cary. I'll definitely be coming back to try more dishes from the menu. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great Indian food in the area!

Best food I’ve had in a long time. Chicken Tikka masala was extremely flavorful in the very creamy medium-heat sauce. Paired with garlic cilantro naan for an incredibly tasty experience. Server was very nice and food was served quickly

The besawada boneless chicken biryani is the best biryani I had in 5 years in the US. Always a must stop whenever I am in Raleigh-Durham area. Very friendly staff.
