We ordered a lot of food and were sorely disappointed with every single item except one.
The brisket was the driest, nastiest brisket I have ever eaten. The macaroni and cheese was separated and looked and tasted disgusting. The chicken tender breading slid right off the meat and the my daughter described it as chicken jerky. We ordered a side of onion rings and got three onion rings for $6.79 and they were so overcooked, the onions crunched and weren’t even wet.
We were very disappointed. We spent almost $100 and would have been better off at McDonald’s.

KJ Holmes here. Me and my large melanated family showed up July 2 at lunchtime as a party of 8. They ran out of ribs then found some. We received what seemed like reheated leftover food from an earlier party. This was confirmed by later seeing the same type food we ordered piping and hot and tender and juicy unlike our order. The ribs, wings and macaroni and cheese were reheated and should’ve never left the kitchen. I’m sure they can do better but this is what it was unfortunately. We’re back in Raleigh now wishing it was better especially for the premium price we paid.

My roommate and I popped in for a quick lunch on vacation, I’ve been coming down here for 10+ years and never tried this place and needless to say I will be making this spot a “must go” on our vacations from now on. Our waitress Morgan was so sweet and friendly, she checked on us several times and always was happy to grab whatever we needed. The pina colada they made was amazing it didn’t even taste like alcohol! I ordered the Game Changer and it was FANTASTIC. The pork and brisket combination was 10/10. Hush puppies were perfectly cooked and the butter was SO GOOD. The staff also came up and said our food looked good which to me is always a good sign. If the people working there think the food looks good it probably is - and trust me it was! The service was quick but we were here on a Monday mid day so I’m sure if they’re busy the wait is a bit longer but we were seated & accommodated right away. Thanks guys!! Y’all did a great job!!

The food was amazing. The prices were reasonable considering the quality of food . The smokehouse burger was amazing!! The bbq potato skins were great . The chicken tender oh my goodness!! Was crunchy on outside but tender fresh juicy hot white meat breast on the inside!! Their bbq sauces are good especially house sauce. The Restaruant was clean. The scenery was great. Lastly the waitress LAUREN was amazing!! She knew the menu, was ever personable and truly wanted to make sure w head an amazing experience!! She was a 10 for waitress scales!! Her service was awesome . She checked on us several times to ensure everything was excellent. I am a restraint critic and I am super impressed. If I had to find an areas of improvement I would say .. get U.S. a wifi code so I can do a review while at the Restaraunt.. no WiFi’!! lol. Also bottle up the seasoning that goes on the fries and sell it.. it taste so delicious on the other parts of my meal when I sprinkled it on. Great support staff as well. From the moment I entered the Restaraunt the host was jolly and asked us if we preferred to sit inside or outside and was very accommodating.

We came here for dinner - showed up around 6:30ish on a Wednesday night I was asked for seating preference - if I wanted to sit upstairs or otherwise - I said first available - was told would be 40 minutes wait, was brought in in 20 minutes which was cool - we were directed to go upstairs - no one guided us or provided a menu - we just found an open table and sat down - after about 15 minutes we were asked if we had been helped yet randomly by a young lady walking by - we said no and we're just left sitting again for another 10 minutes - then a guy, I guess one of the managers, he was also running the bar, came to our table and got our drink order - it took a while for the drinks to show up - once they showed up were waited another 10 to 15 minutes and another young lady came by and said she would take our order - we placed our order, then waited around 30-40 minutes, and the bartender/manager...? came by and offered an apology and said they were backed up and our food would be out soon - we waited another 15- 20 minutes and he came back and apologized for the wait and I expressed my frustration with the wait and also advised how we were just sent up to the table with no guidance or menus provided etc - he stated that was the way they did upstairs seating - I did get frustrated and asked why our food hasn't been brought to us - he said he would go check - he did come back after about 10 minutes and said it would be 4 minutes - the food did arrive in 4 minutes - the bartender/manager came by right when the food was dropped off and asked if everything was ok, we hadn't even had a chance to start eating the food yet so I didn't respond. I ordered brisket and wings platter that was 25$ I was given a tiny portion of brisket that was half fat and 4 wings that were both ICE COLD - the beans and slaw were quite good I was hungry and tired of waiting so I went ahead and ate them - we were never asked if we needed anything like drink refills or anything the entire time we were seated - finally after we were done eating a young lady came by and asked if we needed anything my assumption is she just wanted to get the go ahead to bring the bill, I told her my food was cold and we needed some drinks and complained about the whole experience and I hoped our bill would be adjusted - she stated she wasn't a manager and she would pass it on to a manager - then the bartender/manager...? came by and asked how things were and I did express my frustration about the cold food and half the brisket being fat and the wait being so bad - he did cop an attitude and said he felt I was taking it all out on him when it wasn't his fault - I was a bit shocked at that point - so I reiterated fault wasn't my concern I was just stating what had happened - he said he'd take care of the bill - when he brought the bill he applied a 10% military discount - I was also a bit shocked by that - maybe not his fault but all in all really bad experience at Sunny Daze this time around - I just went ahead and gave them the card and payed for the meal and didn't sign the receipt or offer and tip - hoping whomever owns this establishment sees this and maybe does a review of processes - yeah it's tourist season but bad service is bad service
Update - the owner posted a reply - sorry not acceptable, excuses won't work. So you expect your patrons to behave respectably while they're being given horrible service and then try to complain and be given the run around. Then be served cold food that is not up to par. I'd strongly suggest you review your processes. It's not your patrons fault if you get overwhelmed and the staff can't handle the volume. Your "manager" acted as if I didn't have a reason to be complaining, and then offered a paltry discount, my plate should have been taken off the bill completely as I was served cold food and on top of that the brisket was half fat. Sorry again, your establishment completely let a customer down and you should fess up and say you blew it.
