I found it very comforting not having everything deep-fried, and actually having flavor beyond butter. I really liked their seasoning. As a family, we enjoyed the 1 lb peal and eat shrimp, which was unique because it came out steaming hot; the jambalaya, which was loaded with a great variety of proteins; the clam chowder; and a kids’ shrimp meal with cornbread—simple but really good. Everything was very flavorful, and the prices were reasonable, especially considering the portions. The service was attentive and friendly too. I definitely want to go back! On a side note, my intestines hate lactose, and I somehow survived having almost half a bowl of clam chowder. Now I’m wondering if they use lactose-free cream? It’s kind of common in other countries. I drove over 2 hours afterward without any issues and stops. 🤣

We stayed in Kure Beach for the first time and I absolutely needed to get some seafood. We Googled the nearest restaurants and came across Michael’s. The restaurant is located in a smaller town center style area with a couple little businesses surrounding it. At first sight we could tell it was the PLACE to be. Wednesday evening and everyone was there! Got told the wait would be 35 mins *an overshot* and only waited about 15. Once we were seated our server was so sweet and quick to come to the table. I didn’t get any pictures because I was toooooo busy devouring this delicious food! WOW! We got ribeye, snow crab, shrimp, and alfredo pasta and everything was a 10/10. Steak cooked to perfection, crab and shrimp tasted very fresh and the side butter was phenomenal. They had great portions of the meals and sides. Highly recommend visiting Michael’s if you’re in the area, heck even if you’re not! It’s worth it 👌🏽

My husband and I drive past this place multiple times a week and there’s almost always a line out of the door, so we finally decided to give it a try. We went on a rainy day since the reviews boast about their seafood chowder and it did not disappoint! There was a ridiculous amount of seafood in every bite, flavor was excellent, and I highly recommend getting the cornbread on the side. My husband got the seafood baked mac and cheese which was also incredible. Made for the perfect rainy day date. We sat at the bar which is first come first serve. I recommend doing the same if you can since there’s always a wait and the service has somewhat poor reviews. The bartenders were very friendly and fast which added to our wonderful experience. We ordered house margaritas which were excellent if you’re looking for a not so sweet drink option.

Our Birthday Group of 10 was set on the late sunset facing patio with intermittent shading. For a couple of the group, it was far too sunny to be subject to a few hour long extravaganza. The food was exceptional. We shared many of the popular reviewed and suggested dishes. Luckily, our family isn't shy and we shared EVERYTHING. We started with the Blue Fin Crab Dip (DIP), Scampi Mussels(SM) and Oyster's Rockefeller (OR). The DIP was savory and delectable but deserved move volume to attend the suggested vessels to accompany it. Most surprisingly, the SM, scrumptious-for-the-whole-table, were eaten by those .5 - 80 Year Old. The OR were not nearly traditional with the added bacon but twas a welcome variation. The drink arrivals were experienced in various ways. Ultimately, the Key Lime Martini (KLM) was a NUMBER #1 - everything else subject to personal scrutiny. For entrees, we first enjoyed the kids corndogs and taters - (THIS PLACE SPECIFICALLY DOESN'T FRY.) My Blackened Grouper was excellent, fresh and discernable with it's accompaniment of Garlic Parm cream sauce and Grits Cake - WIN. Other dishes performed well with the most importantly stated, Shrimp & Scallop Scampi. From my opinion, followed were the Lump Crab Cakes and Stuffed Flounder. Overall, Great Food, OK service and Perfect Atmosphere. Excellent waiting area next door (Island Beverage), ask for shaded areas, order the KLM and be cordial with your server.

It was fantastic! What else can you say about this place, so much! Food was awesome, waitress was on the ball and informative 👌 made suggestions and accommodations. Their award winning chowder was just that and the ahi tuna was right up there with the best. This place also had pasta which was great for the kids! Even had chocolate milk! Only suggestion would to be to have red sauce also available for the kids. Unless it was on the kids menu which we didnt see cause our kids are older but picky. There was fish tanks every where which was nice to look at and the tables had great design. I know not many people look at that but I do. Had in door and out door seating. The wait wasnt that long either but this place is so good that even at 8:30pm at night it was still packed and had to wait alittle. Normal close at 9pm but summer they stay open alittle later. Over all would definitely recommend!!
