Let me start by saying this place is Fantastic in many ways but the Service of two of the Bartenders/waitstaff take it to new levels! On our first and second visits to this location back in the spring of 2024, my Wife and I were fortunate to have Olivia and Becca as our servers. They were both so kind to help in ordering off menu OG food and Drinks we were accustomed to from many years at the Oleander location making our visits exceptional! Now Flash forward….. we have moved to Dallas TX and had not visited the location for over 7 months but on our first return visit we decided to sit at the Bar and noticed both Olivia and Becca were now Bartenders. Within seconds of sitting down they put our favorite Margaritas in front of us and said how happy they were to see us! (All of this before talking to us and after 7 months since our initial 2 visits) This kind of service is extremely rare and one of the factors that will allow a restaurant to survive for years when others continue to fail. We now are fortunate to call both Olivia and Becca friends! ( Side Note we were just in town for 21 days and had lunch/dinner at the bar with them 13 times during the stay!) We are counting the days until our next visit with our friends (And the Great Margaritas 😜)

Visited the Carolina Beach location. The waiter was friendly but we were seated by the door despite better options further inside the restaurant. The silverware inside our napkins was dirty. The waiter made no apologies when we handed him two different knives with what looked like dried salsa. Unfortunately the warm chips were the highlight. We order the tres amigo dip which was disappointing. The guac tasted like something store bought and elote had no seasoning. We ordered boom boom tacos and one of the recommended carne burritos. The burrito had brown slices of avocado and the shrimp tacos were just cheese and fried shrimp. No slaw to speak of and definitely no boom boom sauce. The shells tasted like burnt cheese. If you are in the area, I would skip this one if it’s on your list.

K38 Baja Grill in Carolina Beach is an absolute favorite! The atmosphere is friendly, laid-back, and welcoming, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a great meal near the coast. The service was prompt, attentive, and made the entire experience even better.
The Tower 7 Burrito with grilled chicken was phenomenal—packed with black beans, Mexican rice, guacamole, salsa fresca, mixed cheese, sour cream, and cilantro, all wrapped in a large flour tortilla. It was fresh, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. And don’t leave without trying the churros—they were absolutely PHENOMENAL! Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and the perfect way to finish an outstanding meal.
If you’re looking for a wonderful Mexican restaurant in the Wilmington area, K38 Baja Grill is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

Our server Emma was amazing. We had the pleasure of having her service for one lunch and one dinner. Both experiences put all the other large establishments to shame! K38s food was far superior to the “World Famous” restaurant right up the street. Everything was fresh and the service was impeccable!

I work in the service industry and realize it’s rude to go in before close so I got there at 9 when hours are until 10. If you have to be there one more hour you might as well make some extra money. We walk in and are ignored by 4 staff members one briefly made eye contact and then walked away. They clearly wanted to go home but you can atleast say hi and that the kitchen is closed early. There were still tables in there eating. It was extremely rude and unprofessional. They treated us as if we walked in at 9:45.
