Alicia and her main helper, OC, are great. They make a really good BLTEC sandwich. The lake always produces lots of bass although mostly on the small side. The NCFWL want you to take your small bass home with you. Their are too many small fish stunting the population of big fish.
Great people, good food, good fishing and boating
Small very limited seating but the food and friendly service are great!!!!!!!

This is a tiny, rather remote small 300+ acre lake (suffering from the drought) with boat ramps, picnic tables, fishing, canoe rentals. Pavilion and a playground.
We went for the Holt Lake Lakeside Grill for lunch to a place we've never been to. It appears from the outside as a small house. Inside a few tables and a counter. Announcing that we had never been there they invited up to sit anywhere. We picked up 2 menus and headed to the outside covered porch with a few tables that overlook what would normally be a pleasant. With very low water the view was less than great.
It took awhile to get someone to take out order. Chicken salad on toast, and tots. A turkey club with bbq chips. After a lengthy wait someone brought our drinks, then another length wait the food arrived.
The sandwiches weren't ever cut. I had to go get a knife to cut. The tots were clearly run off the mill frozen, and fried in all I could guess was very very very old oil. I don't know but they were awful. The chicken salad wasn't home made, but tasted very store bought and slapped on some bread (not toasted)
It was not good. When I went back in with empty cups asking for a refill I saw the "kitchen" I looked for a sanitation grade (better late then never) but didn't see one.
I'm not sure from the quality of the food, the cleanliness of the prep area it would score a low B.
Because this grill is on a state park, I'm ASSUMING they contract out the food prep.
We'll go back to the park, but bring our own picnic.
