My husband and I eat at Chipotle frequently because we genuinely enjoy the food. Unfortunately, our experiences at Burlington, North Carolina location have been consistently disappointing.
It seems like something is always unavailable, whether it’s ingredients or toppings. We’ve also noticed employees arguing with one another in front of customers, which creates an unprofessional atmosphere.
One of the most frustrating issues is the inconsistency between ordering in person and ordering online. For example, customers are sometimes told certain items, such as peppers and onions, are unavailable in-store, yet those same items can be ordered through the app. That doesn’t make sense from a customer perspective.
Another recurring issue is online order pickup. The app will often indicate that the food is ready, but when we arrive, we can clearly see our order sitting there. Even after asking an employee or manager for assistance, we’ve had to wait an additional 20–30 minutes while our food sits getting cold. As paying customers, that’s unacceptable.
Customer service, food quality, and hospitality should be top priorities, especially considering how much customers spend. We continue to give Chipotle chances because we enjoy the brand, but the overall experience has become increasingly frustrating.
Chipotle has a great product, but these locations need to do better when it comes to customer service, professionalism, communication, and consistency.

Everywhere I go for chipotle is amazing…except here. We were trying to have a nice family dinner, they made three bowls for our family. There system was glitching when it was checkout time. So they said unless you have cash too bad!!!!! What?! So you’re just going to throw the food away??? Wow. People don’t use their brains. So we left empty handed, won’t be coming back to this location. Everytime we go people are in bad moods which dampens my own. And they don’t load the bowls like other locations. I would recommend a different location.
I was disappointed with the customer service I received during my visit. Unfortunately, I did not get the employee’s name, but the young woman working at the counter was unnecessarily rude throughout the interaction.
I requested that my burrito be served on the side, but it was carelessly wrapped and crumpled in aluminum foil. Additionally, the toppings and other items I requested were placed on the plate in a rushed manner, creating a mess.
I understand that food service can be demanding, but customers should be treated with courtesy and respect. A positive attitude and attention to detail go a long way in creating a better customer experience. I hope management addresses this issue so that future customers receive the level of service they expect. This is a one and done for me however I will not be back.
I've been to this Chipotle a couple of times because I love Chipotle. I keep giving it a try thinking I might get a more positive experience. No luck! This is by far the worst Chipotle I've been too. The restaurant is regularly trashed. Twice I've gone to eat in my car because there were no clean tables to sit at. They regularly give so little meat that I'm often biting into the tacos and only getting rice and cheese. Some of their staff is friendly. Others can come across as unfriendly or even rude. I generally try to be flexible and understanding with service staff. They have a crazy tough job and I spent much of my 20's working in restaurants. Much of this falls on management. They set the tone. I am pretty loyal to Chipotle but this place is just a disappointment over and over again.

Food was fine. Didn't love the attitude of the staff but I can give them a break knowing they were stressed and understaffed during a busy time. My biggest issue is the app. It tells you your order is ready at whatever time your original pickup time was. No ability for the staff to update it. I placed an order at 9:08 for a 9:20 pickup time. I arrived at 9:25 and the app said my order was ready for pickup. Went inside and waited until 9:45 to actually get my food. Other people said they had been waiting for over an hour. I know things get behind sometimes but have a way to let people know. The app is terrible.
