Salads were good. Steaks were not cooked how we asked. They also didn’t seem to have any seasoning. Baked potato was hard. Def not worth the price. They did get our group of 7 in with no wait on a Friday night which I guess should have been a clue.

So our ribeyes on Saturday night were tough as leather. Very disappointed for $45. It was Lonestar Steakhouse quality but $45. The rolls tasted like Sister Schubert's Frozen Dinner Yeast Rolls. My pet peeve in a restaurant is when they sit me next to the bar when I had a reservation without asking me if that was fine. They did. If I wanted to eat at a bar I would have gone to a bar. Lastly service was bad. The waitress was prompt to come get us water and get us going with a salad they created. No salad bar anymore. After the salads were delivered, we didn't see her again till the meals arrived and then we didn't see her again till she cleared the table and brought the bill. I still gave her a 15% tip but it could have been 30%. There was a big issue with the table next to me with salmon and what looked like asparagus. The asparagus looked like it had been boiled for hours - lifeless and dull green. The patron picked at the salmon a little and didn't eat it. Folks reading this review from out of town....keep moving. It ain't worth it!!!

Would give 5 stars if this was intended to be a luxurious experience. For a family friendly restaurant with great food this is 4.5 stars. Very friendly staff. Very good food. LOVE the endless salad. Awesome ingredients and very fresh. Location is great. Parking is tight and it gets very very busy at peak times. Frankly this restaurant is busy every time I have visited. It could be twice its current siize and they would probably still pack the place out. Would absolutely suggest. Family friendly Price $$-$$

I have been debating writing this review, as I never do, but I really want this place to succeed and hope that honest feedback will help. I went to college in Boone and had always heard of this place. Well, when visiting the area over a decade later, my wife and I decided to try this place; we had always heard of it but never went. Our waiter was excellent, very friendly and helpful; the salad, I personally thought, was fantastic and the reason for the 2 stars on the food. I was able to make quite a funky combo of things on the salad, and I really enjoyed it. But where things get bad was the actual steak. We both ordered a filet, and it was honestly one of the worst I've ever had. I am an overly picky eater, and I never even had a steak until I was in my 30s, but once I did and got a really well-cooked steak, it can be one of the best meals you can eat, if not the best. This was not one of those; the steak was tough. I would even question if it was an actual fillet. To the owner, I've read through a lot of reviews of the weeks since our visit, and there does seem to be a theme here. Please do a deep QC of where you're getting your meat; if you've changed, it's not working. Make sure the people cutting the meat are doing it correctly and that things are being cooked properly. This needs to be a full peeling back of the onion to ensure everything from sourcing to table is as you expect.
