- SVSkylar Vines4 days ago1.0I was absolutely distraught when my grandmother came home and explained how she was treated by three employees at the Bojangles in Ayden, NC: Sophia, Zion, and RJ. As someone who cares deeply about my grandmother, it was upsetting to hear that she was made to feel uncomfortable and disrespected over something that should have been handled with simple courtesy. My grandmother asked for a roll instead of a bun, and rather than politely explaining that rolls were unavailable or offering an alternative, she expressed that these employees repeatedly laughed in her face and told her they did not sell rolls. There is absolutely no reason for a customer to be laughed at for asking a question or requesting something different. A little patience, kindness, and common courtesy would have gone a long way. To make matters worse, when my grandmother realized that her order was incorrect, she went inside the restaurant to address the issue. While there, she was also disturbed by what she described as employees openly discussing alcohol and loudly cursing in the workplace. This is completely unprofessional behavior, especially in a customer-facing environment where people should feel comfortable and respected. What makes this situation even more concerning is that there was apparently no manager in sight to address the situation or ensure that customers were being treated appropriately. My grandmother deserved the same respect and consideration as any other customer. Age should never be a reason for someone to be made fun of, dismissed, or treated poorly. Customer service is about more than taking orders and handing out food; it is about treating people with dignity. I sincerely hope that management takes this complaint seriously, addresses the behavior reported, and provides the necessary guidance to prevent other customers from having a similar experience. Based on what my grandmother shared with me, this visit was unacceptable, and I would not feel comfortable recommending this location unless meaningful improvements are made.

Apparently, I’m willing to cross three galaxies, dodge an asteroid belt, slingshot around Jupiter, and re-enter Earth’s atmosphere for a Cajun Filet Biscuit Combo from Bojangles in Ayden, North Carolina. And you know what? WORTH. EVERY. LIGHT-YEAR. That Cajun biscuit arrived hot, buttery, spicy, crispy, and looking like it knew exactly why I had traveled 400 million miles to get there. One bite and suddenly the universe made sense. Then came the fries—hot, seasoned, and disappearing at an alarming rate. I’m pretty sure there was a gravitational anomaly inside the box because they vanished before I could scientifically determine where they went. And the large sweet tea? That wasn’t a beverage. That was Southern rocket fuel. Cold, sweet, refreshing, and large enough to keep the spacecraft operational all the way back to Eastern North Carolina. By the time I finished, I was sitting there staring peacefully into the distance like I had just discovered the meaning of life: Cajun biscuit. Fries. Sweet tea. Repeat. If NASA ever establishes a colony on Mars, somebody better put a Bojangles beside the launchpad. Special appreciation to the Ayden crew for keeping the biscuits hot, the fries seasoned, the tea cold, and hungry travelers properly fueled. You’re doing important work down here on Planet Earth.
