I came in today after a heavy flash rainstorm, and half the restaurant had been flooded by Merrimon Ave. I walked in and was greeted by a happy, smiling face that was using a massive squeegee to push water out the front door. Another employee was pushing water out the other door, with a water pump in the outdoor area pumping water to the street. The rest of the staff was completely unfazed. Everyone was polite and working hard. The patrons in the restaurant were eating with water at their feet, smiling. 10/10 experience. Oh, food was great per usual.

Serving peanuts for free began as a way for people to pass the time while they waited for us to cook up their meals (way back in the day, before smartphones). It was such a hit, and has become such a Five Guys tradition, that we keep our stores stocked with peanuts to this day.
