  Booked table for 9 Special Event. October 3/26. Booked 2 days before. Online menu extensive with salmon as entree and also on tapa selections. When we arrive menu in hardbound book cover was 1/2 of online choices , no salmon. I question and waitress was rude actually gave up our table to another person. The entire experience was not bonvoy service.

  Service was impeccable. The views are spectacular. The gas fireplaces are nice on a cool night. The kitchen is open till 11 which is a bonus in the food is good. Recommend the roasted chickpeas!

  Very good food, a bit high priced, excellent views and good vibe. Nice specialty drinks, but rather expensive.

  We ate breakfast at Capella on 9 several times, and the breakfast staff provided great service. Prices were reasonable for a hotel restaurant, with entrées around $16 and the European-style buffet around $23. The buffet included either two eggs or brioche French toast cooked to order. I ordered breakfast entrées such as two eggs with sausage, toast, and fresh fruit, while my husband had the bacon version. I also tried the avocado and egg tacos in corn tortillas, which were good. They happened to be out of fresh avocados that morning, but rather than simply telling me the dish wasn't available, the chef got creative and used some puréed avocado they had for another dish. I appreciated the effort to make it work. Coffee was self-service and was good. Capella on 9 also has a rooftop terrace that looked like a lovely place to have a drink and enjoy the view. Even our trolley driver recommended going there for a drink. One thing to keep in mind is that the restaurant stops serving food before the bar closes. Our flight to Asheville was delayed almost five hours, and I was trying to determine whether we would still be able to have dinner when we arrived. I tried calling the restaurant but could only leave a message, so I called the AC Hotel Asheville Downtown front desk instead. Although the posted hours showed Capella on 9 open until 11:00 p.m., the front desk told me the restaurant stopped serving food at 10:30 p.m. Since I used to work at a bar, I knew the kitchen could close earlier than the bar and was glad I had checked. In the end, we didn't reach the hotel until around 11:00 p.m. anyway. We had originally thought we might have dinner there during our stay because the tapas-style, small-plate menu sounded perfect for the way we like to eat. We never ended up having dinner, however, because there weren't quite enough dishes on the menu that appealed to us. I would have loved to see a few more straightforward choices such as croquettes and small steak or chicken plates. With a few additions like those, we probably would have eaten there for dinner as well.
