  I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the handling of my Food Lion Grocery Pickup order on Sunday, July 12, 2026. The experience involved multiple failures in communication, order tracking, and customer service that resulted in significant inconvenience. I placed my order at approximately 4:00 p.m. and received an order confirmation email at 4:01 p.m. for a pickup window of 7:00–8:00 p.m. At 5:32 p.m., I received a text message indicating that shopping for my order had begun. At 7:15 p.m., I was notified that one of my items was being substituted. I declined the substitution, and my order was updated accordingly at 8:15 p.m. However, I still had not received any notification that my order was ready for pickup. When I checked the Food Lion app, the order status first showed as “Received,” as though shopping had not yet started. A short time later, the order disappeared entirely from the app and from my order history, with the most recent order displayed being one from Friday. Concerned that my order had been lost or canceled, I drove to the store to inquire about it. I spoke with three different associates, none of whom were able to provide clear assistance. The first associate simply stated that the store was “really busy” and went to find someone else. The second associate, who appeared to be a shift lead or manager, informed me that the employee responsible for online orders had gone home approximately an hour earlier and said she would investigate after taking her till to the office. She never returned. A third associate directed me to wait at the grocery pickup kiosk. After approximately ten minutes, he returned and stated, “Oh, your order has been finished. I guess they just forgot to update the app.” At no point did anyone offer a sincere apology, acknowledge the multiple errors that had occurred, or provide any form of resolution for the inconvenience. I chose to use Grocery Pickup specifically because I was feeling unwell and wanted to avoid entering the store. Instead, due to the lack of communication and inaccurate order status updates, I was ultimately required to drive to the store and spend additional time trying to locate my order. This completely defeated the purpose of using the service. While I understand that stores can become busy, customers should still be able to rely on accurate order tracking and basic communication. The combination of an order disappearing from the app, the failure to notify me that it was ready, and the dismissive responses I received from staff created an experience that was both frustrating and unacceptable.

  Great experience. Bought organic potato, onions, cucumber, good selection of produce. Friendly staff and I do recommend shopping there
