  This was almost a one star review. Jennifer at the Advance, NC Food Lion deserves recognition for truly understanding what customer service means. My mother recently had a Food Lion TOGO order that was mishandled by another store. At the time, we had no idea another location was involved, and what followed was an incredibly frustrating experience. Another local store had marked my mother’s order as delivered, yet the delivery driver had apparently been given eight empty bags to deliver to her doorstep. It is hard to understand how that would not raise an immediate concern that something was seriously wrong with the order. That’s where Jennifer, a manager at the Advance, NC Food Lion (Store 801), stepped in and made all the difference. She patiently worked with us for nearly an hour, helping us piece together what had happened. I also made a personal trip to the store, and eventually we discovered that my mother’s groceries had never actually been picked up for delivery in the first place. I then had to make another trip to pick up my mother’s groceries from the other location. What was especially disappointing was that no one from the other store apologized, acknowledged the mistake, or seemed to recognize that we had now spent hours trying to correct an issue that should never have happened. It also unnecessarily consumed the time and resources of another Food Lion location and, more importantly, made us question whether we could trust the service to reliably deliver groceries to elderly members of our community. Jennifer completely changed that experience. She listened, took ownership of helping us find an answer, stayed patient throughout the process, and treated us like our concerns genuinely mattered. That kind of customer service is increasingly rare, and it deserves to be recognized. Jennifer restored my faith in what I have always believed about Food Lion as a company: that they care about their communities, the people they serve, and the quality of service they provide. The other location could absolutely take a lesson from Jennifer and the management team at the Advance store. Mistakes happen, but how you respond to them is what defines great customer service.

  Went at 8:30pm they don't close till 10 and no lanes open only self check out as young kids stand around and do nothing why pay anyone to just stand around I'll take my business to Lowe's foods or Harris teeter next time I dont want to have to ring myself up after working all day and then to watch a handicapped lady have to check herself out as well do better this is what's wrong with this world and why people won't have jobs anymore

  It's a great place to shop. Meats are excellent, Deli is spectacular, cakes and cookies are super delicious! Fresh veggies! It's all good!!

  Very poor service from front end employee Delany. Slow pace, no greeting, no thank you for my business. You need to train your employees better.
