Only here in Helena for a month and we visited this restaurant 3 times! To put that in perspective, we only ate out 5 times. Loved the food and the service staff. I noticed that the customers that frequent this restaurant are more diverse than other places, which I appreciated. All seem welcome here! :) Thanks for the wonderful experience (x3).

After reading some of the lower-rated Google reviews, I almost skipped this place. I’m really glad I didn’t, because those reviews couldn’t have been further from our experience. If you’re looking for authentic Indian food in Helena, this is it. Everything is made fresh to order, so don’t come expecting fast food. There was a little wait, but once the food arrived it was obvious why. I’d much rather wait a few extra minutes for fresh naan and freshly prepared curries than get something that’s been sitting under a heat lamp. We started with several types of naan. The plain naan was soft, pillowy, and had just the right amount of char from the tandoor. The garlic naan was loaded with fresh garlic and herbs—not just sprinkled with garlic powder like you get at many places. We also had the onion naan, which was packed with fresh onions and had great flavor. Even the papad was fresh, crisp, and served with flavorful chutneys. For the main course we ordered butter chicken with basmati rice and vegetable fried rice. The butter chicken was outstanding. The sauce was rich, creamy, perfectly balanced, and tasted like it was made from scratch—not overly sweet or loaded with cream to hide a lack of flavor. The chicken was incredibly tender and came in generous pieces. The basmati rice was cooked perfectly, light and fluffy with every grain separate. The vegetable fried rice was another surprise. It was packed with fresh vegetables, well seasoned, and easily could have been a meal on its own. One thing that really stood out was the quality of the ingredients. Nothing tasted frozen, reheated, or pre-made. Every dish tasted fresh, and you can tell they actually care about what they’re serving. The portions were also excellent. We left with enough leftovers for another meal, which made the value even better. The service deserves recognition too. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely appreciative that we stopped in. They checked on us without being intrusive and made us feel right at home. I’ve eaten Indian food all over the United States, from small family-owned restaurants to places in major cities, and this ranks among the best I’ve had. It’s authentic, fresh, and prepared with care. In my opinion, it’s better than many of the highly rated Indian restaurants I’ve visited in much larger cities. Don’t let a handful of negative reviews scare you away. Based on our experience, they don’t reflect the quality of the food we received. If you’re in Helena and enjoy Indian food—or even if you’re trying it for the first time—Everest Indian Kitchen is absolutely worth the stop. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Montana.

We came in today (Thursday), and the service was excellent. The front staff were very welcoming, friendly, always smiling, and very good-looking. They created a great first impression and made us feel comfortable throughout our visit. The butter chicken was much sweeter than expected, and unfortunately, we didn’t enjoy it. The food overall was okay, but not as good as we had hoped. Even so, the outstanding service really stood out. Overall, we had a good experience, and the staff made our visit enjoyable.

As a regular customer, I have always loved ordering from here, especially the rice pudding, which used to be my favorite. Unfortunately, my recent experiences have been very disappointing. The last time I ordered the rice pudding, it was completely burnt, which was a total waste of money. When I came in to dine in, the atmosphere was great, and the staff were friendly with smiling faces. The service was warm and welcoming, and I truly appreciated that. However, the food quality was extremely poor. The meat tasted stale, was extremely tough like a stone, and had none of the flavor it used to have. The naan was extremely burnt and overcooked to the point that it was almost impossible to enjoy. The overall food quality has declined significantly and the kitchen really needs to improve. To make matters worse, after eating the meal I became sick with diarrhea and had to go to the bathroom many times. I sincerely hope management addresses these issues with the kitchen staff and ensures that food is prepared, cooked, and stored properly. I’ve been a loyal customer for a long time, and while the service is good, the food quality needs serious improvement. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously so longtime customers can continue dining here safely and confidently.
