🚨 BUYER BEWARE OF FRAUDULENT CHARGES 🚨 I handed my card directly to the cashier who then (after disappearing from view for what seemed liked 5+ minutes) made multiple charges to my credit card, by physically re-entering my order number & re-inserting my card. If I hadn't received a notification, I would likely have never realized the fraudulent charges. What's disturbing is that when I called the owner, Ray Winstead, he seemingly defended his employee, telling me that my card "couldn't have been charged multiple times" for the same order number UNLESS the cashier had physically re-entered my order number BEFORE physically re-inserting my card, which is EXACTLY what happened. Ray offered me a gift card, which I declined, because I WANT THE MONEY THAT WAS WRONGFULLY TAKEN FROM ME, NOT A GIFT CARD! I made plans with Ray to later return to the store, to show proof that my card had been charged multiple times for the same order, even though I had already given him the order number from my receipt, enabling him to see for himself. But, not surprisingly, Ray wasn't there when I arrived & he didn't answer his cell phone though he had assured me that he would. So, I left a message for him with an employee at the drive-thru. I never heard from Ray again, until days later, but ONLY AFTER I had called Sonic corporate to report credit card fraud. Later that same day, Ray called to tell me he "forgot" about our initial conversation. Ray's attitude is that it's "no big deal", telling me he "doesn't have anyone replace" the employee who charged by card multiple times without my knowledge or consent, and having the utter audacity to tell me, "life goes on". It's apparent to me that Ray will allow credit card fraud, because he doesn't want to lose an employee. Now, 17 days later, Ray has changed his story entirely, denying all together that my card was charged multiple times, claiming that employee, "isn't like that", even though I've already sent him proof. Ray has left me no choice but to file criminal charges, as well as a lawsuit, while waiting to see if additional fraudulent charges appear on my card. Without accountability, I believe it's just a matter of time before more of Ray's customers find themselves the victims of credit card fraud. But I have to wonder if I'm not the only customer who has been forced to deal with fraud after visiting this Sonic. BUYER BEWARE!! If you find fraudulent charges on your credit card after visiting this Sonic location, I HIGHLY encourage you to contact the Mississippi Attorney General Consumer Protection Division to file a complaint, as well as the Winona, Mississippi Police Department. FYI; Ray Winstead also owns Sonic locations in and around Grenada, Mississippi as well.
