  I lived in the area for eight years and never tried El Agave. Finally decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised to find it was some of the finest Mexican food I've had. Delicious!

  Cinco de Mayo so expected it to be busy and it was!! So parking was difficult. To go order was ready on time and yummy as always. Was missing tomatillo sauce, that I love, for all street tacos. Overall awesome food. I’ve never had anything there I didn’t like. We love El Agave!

  El Agave Mexican Restaurant in Southaven has some really good food and fast, reliable service. The dishes are flavorful, fresh, and consistently well-prepared, making it a great spot if you’re craving Mexican cuisine. The service is quick, and the staff is friendly and attentive, which helps make the experience even better. Prices are a little on the higher side compared to some other places, but the quality of the food makes it worth it. Overall, it’s a solid restaurant with great flavor and efficient service—definitely worth visiting again.

  I and my family frequently visit this Mexican restaurant BUT today was absolutely insanely ridiculous. We ordered a plates that we order weekly (chicken CHEESE and rice add shrimp and steak and the plate came to the table today without cheese. I stirred from the bottom in front of the waitress so she could see there was no cheese. The manager came to the table and proceeded to argue out loud in front of other customers about the fact it was a “small” amount of cheese on there (his exact words). When I said to him we come here often (weekly) and never had this problem and just wanted it made right but all we got was attitude from then waitress and arguing from the MANAGER….shameful. The sad part was they tried to act like I was trying to get something for nothing. We stop her weekly and between the 2 checks we leave them greater than 250.00 each time and the MANAGER made a scene over adding cheese to a dish that actually came with cheese. We are professionals people and believe in paying our way and to be treated this way was disheartening. Today, out tickets were over140.00 and would have substantial more because we all wanted to another round of drinks. All of this of adding cheese to a dish that comes with cheese…chicken, CHEESE, rice! Do better toward your costumers and the MANAGER need additional training! To the manager, young man I do not know how you talk to people in Mexico but I’m an American and I unappreciative of that rude behavior!

  We were in the mood for mexican and decided to stop here. Upon entering you could tell they were very busy. There were people waiting in the corridor and immediately inside so we were expecting a wait. There were a few people checking in in front of me. Once I made it to the hostess I asked about the wait. She said that there was none and we were taking toniur seats. We were quickly tended to regarding our drinks and our chips and salsa arrived almost as we sat. Once we decided we placed our order. Despite the visible busyness of the place and the area around us being pretty full our waiter, a gentleman, was very attentive. Throughout our meal we were able to interact with him. On 2 separate occasions we needed additional items and he was very pleasant when we would stop him. The food was DELICIOUS and we both enjoyed what we ordered. My fiance ordered some type of fajitas and the amount of food was enough for 3 sittings and my guy has a big appetite. I had nacho fries and although it didn't look like a lot the serving was plenty with a lot of meat as well. I only gave atmosphere 4 stars because it was pretty loud (we were sitting in the area off of the bar but the whole place seemed to have that atmosphere). This may bother some people. Despite the volume, I would go back in a heartbeat beat. Great food, service and price with leftovers.
