Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

I’ve seen no customers in the lobby and the line is building up behind me. It is 7:57 in the morning and they’re not busy. I’m not getting any update at the window or anything. The customer service was very dry this morning, which was not a good way to start a morning for anyone coming through this line.

I was contemplating sitting and having a meal versus grabbing and go. Once I saw the orange and white sign lit across the street, I gravitated towards it quickly. I had not had a Patty Melt in over 12 months, and boy oh boy was last night worth the wait!!!! The cashier was cordial and patient; the food was made to ORDER. How do I know? Fries- HOT! Just like I like them and fresh (no refrying here). The melt was customized with shredded lettuce, just as I requested. It wasn't just warm buns engulfing lukewarm beef patties. No! The entire sandwich HIT on all cyclinders. Yall better run and grab one while you are iced in and even if you are not!!!
