- TLTina LikestoSave6 days ago2.0This is my 2nd visit after a disappointing 1st visit when they first opened so I waited and gave them another try today for takeout. For Togo orders, I recommend separating rice from gumbo soup so that it won’t be mushy — I placed order for pickup at 11:00– made it there around 11:05 (left my office at 10:55 and it’s an 8 min drive + traffic so maybe 11:08?) and when I looked at it really fast getting into the car— I assumed it was just the rice part so it was already absorbed when I was in parking lot)… gumbo shouldn’t have absorbed that fast into the rice and if you make it at 10:41 when order was placed, you should separate the gumbo from the rice anyway. Despite the mushy gumbo, the flavor was okay- it was sweet for some reason and lacked Cajun flavors. The seafood rice was ordered with sauce on the side- I did not receive the sauce on the side. Rice is very good as-is but would have liked my sauce.

I could get a breakfast burrito and a half order of red beans and rice (which was the size of my head, which my wife says is rather large) and my wife had the beef short rib and tripe pho, she hardly left any in the bowl. Lastly the price, honestly for the amount of food we got it was very reasonable. Oh and I can’t forget, they gave us free donuts when we left (their blueberry donuts are amazing!)
