  Susie was phenomenal. Very outgoing very hands on in making sure you get what you want. My food was undercooked and she made sure that they did it perfectly after that. She was a wonderful server. She gets five stars.

  Was there for a birthday weekend. We decided to splurge and ordered a $90 bottle of Grgich Hills 2022. The server brought it to our table already opened and sheepishly said “I opened it at the bar because it was difficult.” She gave me a test pour and it wasn’t corked so I said ok. She walks away and I noticed the bottle said 2018 instead of 2022, and the wine tasted very harsh and acidic with no fruit. I thought “how did she know it was difficult if her first attempt was at the bar?” We talked about how odd it was to serve an already opened bottle and the wrong vintage. I know some bars would refill expensive liquor bottles with cheap stuff but surely not this fancy steakhouse with an expensive bottle of wine. When the waitress returned I told her I wasn’t comfortable with an already opened bottle and the wrong vintage. She returned with the manager who was carrying an unopened bottle of 2018 Grgich Hills, and he said their policy was to always open bottles at the bar and not at the table, and their distributor delivered the wrong vintage and they didn’t update the menu. I said “really? That’s your policy to open bottles at the bar? I’ve never heard of that.” He then offered this 2018 bottle, or suggested the 2022 Joseph Phelps. I said “yeah I guess we will go for the Phelps if that’s the wrong vintage of Grgich.” He then came back without the server and said “she was just nervous to open that bottle at the table so she had the bar do it.” So I figured they have given me 3 separate reasons for opening the bottle out of sight: it was difficult, it’s our policy, she was nervous. The food was ok and the waitress was nice the rest of the meal, and then our check had the $110 bottle of Phelps on it. No discount. Oh well. He didn’t say it would be discounted or matching the price of our original order so I shouldn’t have expected it. The manager gave off vibes of being dishonest and caught in a lie. The waitress seemed nervous when explaining the open bottle the first time. It made our special night super awkward and slightly more expensive due to their mess-up.
