Hadn't been to The Gnome for quite awhile. We arrived early to get a cozy spot at the bar. Then our friendly and attentive bartender made great recommendations from the beer and food menus. Had fun! Thanks Jake!

This has to be the worst hamburger I have ever had in my life. The patty was thin, highly salted, seasoned excessively, covered in rubberized mushrooms that were marinated in some kind of sauce, topped with greasy rye bread and served with greasy limp French fries that looked like they came out of the freezer. The salad I was served was wilted, old and brown. I took one bite and told the waitress we needed to return our food unfortunately and we were going to go somewhere else. I was then charged for the salad I did not eat, but I paid anyway and left. Will never go back and would not recommend!

We really like The Gnome. The food is always unique and interesting. They switch things up often. The service is always prompt and friendly.
The space was a bit chilly today for my elderly mother, and the music just a bit loud, but pleasant anyway.
I had an amazing roasted vegetable wrap and loved it. I was amazed with the delicious sweet potato fries that came with it—-they were served cold, which I wasn’t expecting and yet were just as fresh tasting and crispy as if they were right out of the fryer. So delicious! My mother and brother both had hot sandwiches and got hot fries alongside. I thought this was very clever!

We have loved going to the Gnome throughout the years, though our visit last night was somewhat disappointing. We ended up eating at the Gnome despite our interest in the Velvet Antler upstairs. The upstairs space was beautiful, but the limited menu (specifically the lack of vegetables) kept us downstairs. I ordered a Vietnamese noodle salad that included crispy tofu and my husband the lamb pita wrap with fries. I had to explain to my husband that there were different fry choices as the server was walking away. The tofu in my salad was uncooked and cold, which was unexpected. I would have asked about this, but no one checked in with us throughout the entire meal. We would have also liked more water, but again no one checked to see how we were doing. We did flag someone down at the end of the meal to ask for a box and our bill.
Otherwise the food and drinks were tasty, we just hope they attend to service more.

The Gnome is a comfotable neighborhood fun spot for connecting with friends over a bite and sip.
The atmosphere is casual but energetic. They serve craft cocktails, a fair variety of wines, and beer. Our group felt the menu is on the small side but still offers acceptable variety. Service was friendly and attentive.
