  This review is based on Happy Hour (they call it “Admiral Hour”). I have not had their standard dinner menu, but wanted to test them out with some of the happy hour fare. We ordered: 6 raw oysters (their own Oceannaire Pearls), the Calamari, and Crab Cake sliders. The oysters were fine- served with plenty of good mignonette and fresh horseradish and cocktail sauce. I’ve had plenty of oysters in my time, and these were a bit on the “meaty” side, and plenty large. The crab cake sliders were lackluster. The buns were stale, the tomato was not fresh, and the crab cakes weren’t that flavorful. The calamari is where things really went south. The menu simply states it is “ buttermilk fried calamari”. What we received was a plate of 1/2 calamari, and half deep fried jalapeños and chili peppers… (see last photo.) Why would you serve VERY spicy peppers without mentioning it on the menu?? Also, I feel like this was filler/cutting corners on the calamari. The calamari itself wasn’t great either. We left hungry, and don’t really want to go back.

  Cozy seating. We celebrated 20 years there and it was delicious I recommend the mashed potatos and green beans if you upgrade to add the sides. It's a must!

  I come here every year for my birthday for the king crab legs. Sadly no more butter warmers, my king crab was cold at the small end, so I ate what was warm. It was delicious. Our waitress was amazing as well as the other staff we encountered.

  A little loud due to the open floor plan but... The traditional mojito is the best I have ever had (perfect balance between the mint and the lime). The crab cakes caused one visiting colleague, (who is also a life long resident of Maryland) to comment, rather sheepishly,"There's a LOT we don't know about crab cakes." The swordfish is, like all the fish on the menu, world class & in the top 4 preparations and presentations I have ever had.

  My husband and I stopped by for dinner and sat at the bar. We started with the Oysters Rockefeller, and they were absolutely delicious! I ordered the Shanghai-style fried rice, which I get every time we come here it’s that good! My husband had the surf and turf as well as the shrimp and grits, and everything was absolutely amazing. The food here never disappoints, but the bar service is what makes the experience even more enjoyable. The bartenders remember your name, greet everyone with a warm, friendly smile, and make you feel genuinely welcomed. And the atmosphere? Such a vibe! Great energy, great people, and just an overall wonderful experience. We’ll definitely be back again and again and again! ❤️
