Food is our love language. It is family tradition—a shared celebration of who we are. Food is a handmade, heartfelt expression of love that invites us to gather and speaks to all of our senses. It is a tribute to the salt and flour of our lives—the foundation that built us. We offer that foundation of love with an approachable and comforting menu of reimagined Italian classics including signature a-mano (handmade) pasta, focaccia pizza, fresh salads and a generous carryout counter—inviting our family traditions into your home and your heart.
Got seated inside near the patio door but the staff seemed to have forgotten about us. The bartender, after realizing we had been unserved after sitting there 45 minutes (trying to get staff attention the last 10 minutes) did take our orders and was very apologetic. He thought wait staff would help us, and we couldn't even get eye contact from the wait staff. He was very accommodating after that. We appreciated the situation, as that sometimes happens, and he was very apologetic and accompdating from then on.
The food was mostly a disappointment. The steak was good, but I also ordered the peach and tomato toast. This dish sits on focaccia bread that was so hard and dried out, I started coughing from the first bite: I was not expecting the bread to turn into dust upon one bite. I inhaled some of it and coughed for several minutes trying to clear it out. By the time I was half way through eating the dish, the butter knife was no longer sufficient to cut the bread, no matter how much force I applied. I'm not sure a steak knife could have cut that bread...a saw would have been better.
All in all, we tried Salt & Flour, but there's no point in going back. Neither the food nor the service are worth enduring a second time. Despite being forgotten about (ignored by the wait staff), the bartender was wonderful after realizing no one else would help us. When this places closes, and eventually it will, I wish him well on his next endeavor. At least he gets what customer service is about.

We went to the Mother’s Day brunch here and it was like they had never had a brunch before. They were still setting up at 11:30 when our reservation was at 11. The line to go through for the food was impossible. The food was cold. I don’t know how they could make a croissant bun taste like bread, but it didn’t taste anything like a croissant.
The worst part was we were charged 20% large party fee of $27.60 for three people .

We went on a Sat night. FYI COMPLIMENTARY VALET! THANK YOU!Delicious homemade meals and great portions so you don't have to go eat after! Very elegant, modern and fun atmosphere. Service was incredible. We had a gentleman server on the bar side, he was very attentive and humorous. The only thing that I didn't like was the music was soooo loud we had to almost yell at each other across the table. Otherwise great place! Well done S&F kitchen.

This place is amazing!!!!! We had a great time celebrating my birthday last night. Our waiter, Zack, took such good care of us, and the Wagyu Bichatini (sp?) was amazing! The music was just a bit loud, but loved the tunes and the atmosphere!! We will definitely be back! What made the experience even better was the complimentary valet service because as you may know, parking in the North Loop on a weekend can be interesting. We loved the whole experience!!!
