The best take out food I've had in a long time. Next time I will dine in.
Great place and quick too. I am extremely picky about pad Thai and their's is amazing. Service is also great. When I ordered pad Thai with no cilantro for take out I heard them send it back to the kitchen because they put it on. They actually remade it which is fantastic and greatly appreciated. They don't cut corners trying to save time and just scrape it off. It's our go to take out place.
We've driven past this place more times than I can count — and I'm genuinely annoyed it took us this long to finally walk in. Brought my wife and mother-in-law for a late lunch, and the savory side of the menu absolutely delivered. The pad see ew, red curry, khao soi, wings, and tom yum were all delicious — the kind of food that makes you want to plan your next visit before you've even finished eating.
Then came dessert, and things got a little rocky. The coconut ice cream was rock-hard and didn't quite live up to the meal. The mango sticky rice was decent, but the sticky rice needed to be softer and the mangoes — both in the dish and the side order — leaned more sour than sweet. For a dessert that lives and dies by the quality of the fruit, it fell a bit short.
Overall, a really solid find with a few dessert kinks to iron out. The savory menu alone earns a return visit — next time we'll just skip straight to the mango sticky rice only if the mangoes are in season! 😄
I’ve been coming to Mai Thai for a while now, and the food is always incredible and super fresh. This is a great small business that really cares about their customers. I recommend going to Mai Thai if you want to eat Thai food.
But I noticed a ridiculous 1-star review on here recently and felt compelled to say something because it’s just completely unfair. This person was complaining about a $150 DoorDash order on Mother's Day, throwing a fit because their food arrived cold and a dish was missing, AND also because "not enough food portion." They admitted the restaurant told them the DoorDash driver probably took it which is completely out of the restaurant's control! If a third-party delivery driver messes up your food, you complain to DoorDash, you don't try to ruin a local business's reputation.
Then they went on a whole rant comparing the portion sizes to their personal "leftover containers" from other spots, basically threatening the restaurant that if they didn't get a full refund or free food, they were going to leave a bad review. It’s total blackmail. Not everything in life is going to go exactly your way. If you're that worried about portions, order another dish or go somewhere else next time instead of trying to extort a small business over a delivery issue. It is truly not that serious.
Ignore the Karens and the fake drama. Mai Thai is amazing, the staff is wonderful, and the food is worth every penny!

This was one of the most disappointing food experiences we've ever had. Ordered $150 worth of food through DoorDash on Mother's Day (May 8, 2026). Food showed up cold. Was missing an entire dish. Immediately called the restaurant; said that the DoorDash driver may have taken the food. The food was sealed (see photo). We only received four dumplings but it's supposed to come with five (see photo), and we had ordered the shrimp version but I am certain these were pork and we don't eat pork. We ordered two Pad Thais; only one showed up. More on that in a minute.
Opened the rest of the food and the food portions were an absolulte joke. We've ordered from various Thai restaurnats around the Twin Cities and as you can see, the photo that captures the empty cannister is the canister we use for the remaining food we take after we've already eaten the main entree at other restaurants. So, at other Thai restaurants, the leftover food yields more than the primary portion that this restaurant offers. I tried for four days to recfity this through both DoorDash and the resutaurant. DoorDash told me to pound sand (terrible, but that's another story), and the restaurant never called me back after indicating that they would have a manager or owner reach out. I gave them plenty of opportunites to get this rectified like remake the food, refund us the food, refund us for the missing food/wrong food, before I submit the complaint on Google Reviews, YELP, and DoorDash, which would cause far more damage to them reputationally, they never called me back with a soltuion.
This went on for five days, and when I finally got a hold of a 'manager' she told me to fly a kite after respectfully laying out the entire situation. She hung up. Hence, this post. Mind you - we've been in the food indusrty for years. The total cost to get this right was $40-$45 (their food cost). Like isn’t life hard enough on the working class? Get the food right, and when it’s not right or there are missing items, just do the right thing.
There are plenty of honest reviewers and restuanrt operators around the Twin Cities that are far superior to this disastrous restaurant. I do not recommend ordering from here ever.
