  Aster House patio is great for dogs, not for humans. I came in for my birthday, and as a new parent I had been looking forward to this occasion for several MONTHS. I know it was 90+ degrees, but the service left much to be desired. Our server was very disinterested, and never asked if we were celebrating anything from the beginning. For medical/hypertension reasons I am unable to consume copious amounts of added salt, and for a $$ supposed scratch kitchen I was shocked that this was unable to be accommodated in any dish. I was told flat out “no”. Is the food not made to order? How is that possible? I’ve gotten movie theater popcorn without salt at a major theater!! Then, I asked for a side of red chili flakes for my entree. Again, my server pretended to check the kitchen, and returned within 5 minutes (I was watching him) to say “no, sorry, we don’t have those” (?) Our food took an HOUR to arrive, when the patio wasn’t busy at all. Then, our server hovered over us for us to add a tip, and then walked away as soon as we entered it into his CC machine. The positives were the cocktails, and that our pup did have a great time. This is truly a pet friendly patio. He was able to be seated in the shade, given a doggy water bowl, and even a treat! I’m glad that he had a nice experience, but for the reasons earlier, his humans probably won’t be returning.

  We hosted my sister's rehearsal dinner at Aster House, and had the pleasure of being the first group to be able to use the Lodge with our own private patio! It was a perfect setup for our group of 60, and the staff was so attentive, kind, and flexible with our needs and requests. The table settings were beautiful, the food was delicious, and we couldn't be happier with our experience from start to finish at Aster House. Highly, highly recommended for medium-sized groups looking for a unique private event space in a beautiful part of Minneapolis!

  Lazy Susan & Wild rice fritters appetizers-excellent! Beef Bourguignon & Swedish meatballs- Phenomenal! Atmosphere is excellent! Meryl and MJ- EXCELLENT! Service is excellent

  Aster House is a hidden gem on the vibrant, but calmer, side of Minneapolis, in the St Anthony Main area, across from Nicollet Island & down the cobblestone street from the Stone Arch Bridge. We stopped by for drinks and dessert relaxing on their best-in-the-area patio. The service was exceptional. We can’t wait to return and try the rest of the menu!

  Our server was outstanding! Super friendly and very attentive. I wanted to love the curried meatballs, but the pea pods were very fibrous and difficult to chew, perhaps they forgot to string them. Burger was fine and salad was nice. I would say this is a great place for happy hour and snacks. Lovely patio.
