During the morning rush, I stood in line and watched as Thomas P. warmly greeted every customer ahead of me. As someone visiting from out of town, I was excited to stop by and enjoy Caribou Coffee again. When it was my turn, I greeted him with a cheerful “Good morning,” but instead of receiving the same courtesy shown to others, I was met with a cold stare. I had to repeat my greeting twice before receiving any response. As the only African American customer in line, the difference in treatment was impossible to ignore. What should have been a pleasant start to my day quickly became an uncomfortable and disappointing experience. No customer should feel unwelcome or singled out when simply trying to purchase a cup of coffee. Customer service requires treating every guest with the same level of respect, courtesy, and professionalism. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. The interaction completely overshadowed what I had been looking forward to, and because of it, I will not be returning anytime soon. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and ensures that all customers are treated with the same warmth and respect, regardless of their race or background.
