Food was very GOOD. I had the walleye bites and sweet potato fries! Great wait staff!

Decided to get out of town for the day before summer was over and found our way to this place. On the outside, it kind of looks like a small town VFW or an Eagles club. On the inside it's roughly divided in half, with the left side looking like fancier dining or a banquet hall, and the right side being the bar and grill. I got a flight of beer. None of them were bad, a couple of them were quite good. For food, I got the Cajun pasta. It was definitely good, especially the shrimp, but it didn't have andouille sausage which is typically one of the staple ingredients in Cajun pasta. The bartender had never heard of it. It could've used a little more zest in the sauce too, but they had some red pepper flakes so I was able to spice it up a bit. Overall, it was pretty good anyway. On the way out, we each got a growler to go, and I tried to get a shirt as well, but they didn't have too much on hand in my size. Overall, I liked the place, and if I find myself in the neighborhood, I would go here again.

The salad for a substution for fries was an absolute joke. The very small house salad consisted of a half slice of tomato, one small raw ring of onion the size of a nickel, and one slice of cucumber. I would have been absolutely embarrassed to serve that to my customers. Minnewaka House needs to step it up!

So I would of thought as hyped as it is everyone would be a little more inviting, our hostess came to us like she was miserable and hated life, our server had a smile like it was forced just in hopes to make a good tip. No one here has any enthusiasm or joy at all, it’s like squidward from SpongeBob greeting you, just dead inside. As far as appetizers, unless you want to work that jaw line, do not order the steak bites, you will chew and uncomfortably long amount of time. My husband ordered a beer flight, now I don’t understand because I don’t drink beer but he said the beer had a waxy texture to it. My holy water drink was good, I enjoyed it. Spicy margarita was pretty good also! My husband ordered the Alaskan salmon, very small for the price and also over cooked. I ordered the sirloin and shrimp, I ordered the steak rare, it came medium, it’s also similar to the steak bites…VERY hard to chew, my shrimp was also overcooked. Altogether, I would be fine not eating here again but I would probably still drink here.
