Overall an extremely unpleasant dining experience. Firstly the waitress Becca was very impatient and condescending to my family members while they were ordering, and made a face as if I had asked a stupid question while inquiring about a dish. Her attitude toward us was absolutely unacceptable. To make matters worse, our food arrived cold. My burger I ordered was cold (and tasted terrible), the fries were cold, and the lettuce in the Caesar salad was wilted and orange. It felt like I was eating literal garbage. I could not finish the meal. Do better.

We found BoomTown while staying in Duluth because our daughter wanted Brisket for dinner. I am very glad we did. My husband had Ribeye Tacos, daughter had Brisket Mac and Cheese (they were nice enough to serve all the components separately for her) and I had the Wild rice Burger, we shared a Margarita flat bread as an appetizer. YUM; we are all very happy with all our meals (and each others). We would return if we lived closer but highly recommend to all those who are able to enjoy a meal here!

Kylie = top notch amazing server of the year award. We came in with a party of 16. It was no problem for her. She was attentive and friendly. I had the Penne Cajun Shrimp which hit the spot for sure. Also indulged in the sprouts and bacon…. Delicious. Couple tap beers to go around and off we went. Thankful for the Royal treatment that Kylie provided. We will be back next time we are passing through. Well done Boomtown. Well done.. Finally note. It’s okay to turn up the tunes.. :-)

I've given the Duluth BoomTown several chances over the past few years because it's a convenient place to meet friends. Each visit has left me hoping the next one would be better, but unfortunately the food and service have consistently fallen short of the quality I've experienced at the Hibbing and Eveleth locations. Service started well with drinks arriving quickly, but after that we waited about 15-20 minutes to place our order, another 10-15 minutes for our food, and then more long waits for the check and payment, even though the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. We ordered the Brewer's Dip Flight, which includes chips, fire-roasted salsa, guacamole, queso, and pico de gallo. The basket of chips was generous, but each dip came in a very small ramekin that didn't feel like much of a flight to share among three people. The guacamole was bland with a large hard piece of avocado, the pico de gallo was mostly tomatoes with very little onion or jalapeño, the queso was overwhelmingly salty, and the salsa was thin, watery, and oddly sweet. Between the small portions and the disappointing quality, it didn't feel like a good value. I ordered the Grilled Ribeye Verde tacos with shaved ribeye, charred jalapeños, cheddar, bacon, and chimichurri on corn tortillas. The tacos were generously filled, but they were served on unusually small corn tortillas that quickly became overwhelmed by the filling and grease. The ribeye itself was extremely chewy with a lot of fat and gristle, making the tacos overly greasy and difficult to eat. I couldn't even finish one taco. When I mentioned it, our server told me the ribeye and brisket tacos tend to be the greasier options and that she personally recommends the Boom Boom tacos instead. To her credit, she removed my meal from the bill without any hassle, which I appreciated. I genuinely want this location to succeed because I've had consistently great experiences at the Iron Range BoomTown restaurants. Unfortunately, after several visits, the Duluth location has continued to fall short of the quality I've come to expect from the BoomTown name.

We went at 7pm on Sunday evening. Waited 25 minutes for a text that we were supposed to get in 10-15, and finally just went inside and heard “I text you a while ago, sorry about that…” only to see several empty booths. Then we sat down, ordered two 1/2-priced apps, and they came out in about 7 minutes. Fried pickles and garlic Parmesan fries. They were both ok. I ordered the poutine appetizer for my main course, and my wife ordered an 8oz steak med-rare and mashed potatoes. Over 45 minutes later (!!) the food came out. My poutine was slop… no pico, no sauce, just gravy on top of cheese and fries (see photo). Her steak was prepared well, the mashed potatoes were dry - no butter even on the side… I just took my to-go because we only got 1 silverware bundle when we were seated, and by that time, we were already tired of waiting. The waiter felt bad because of the wait and sent us home with a “complimentary” lava cake (see photo) still in the container the restaurant gets it in off the Sysco truck… The bill was still $60 with the credit card service fee… really? Who still charges that? We had high hopes for BoomTown because of its reviews; we won’t be back.
