My request was incredibly simple: I ordered the new caramel espresso shaker with oat milk and asked for no ice. Instead of just making the drink without ice, the employee argued that it “wouldn’t be a shaker” anymore. I explained that I simply wanted the caramel espresso and oat milk without adding ice. The manager, who had been sitting at a nearby table, joined the conversation and insisted that what I was asking for was an Americano. That’s simply incorrect—an Americano is made with espresso and water, not oat milk. Rather than listening to what I was actually requesting, they continued insisting that they couldn’t make the drink the way I asked because “that’s not how we do it.” I don’t believe customers are always right, but this was a straightforward customization: no ice. It shouldn’t have turned into an argument. I avoid ice because I prefer not to have it in my drinks. That personal preference should have been respected without debate. Instead of serving a customer, both the employee and manager chose to argue over a very simple request. We ended up leaving without ordering and spent our money at the gas station next door, where they had no issue accommodating a basic customization. This experience reflected poor customer service and a lack of willingness to solve a simple problem. I won’t be returning to this location.
