I wanted to share my recent experience at a wonderful establishment! Our server Tanner was truly amazing and went above and beyond to make our visit special. The service provided was exceptionally good, contributing to a truly memorable evening. I was so impressed with the attention to detail and the friendly atmosphere. It's rare to find such a fantastic combination of elements. I highly recommend Rain Forest Cafe, and i have a special needs sister, and even she had a great time!

My first experience at the Rainforest Cafe was everything I'd hoped it'd be and more. We were there for my best friend's birthday, and Rachel, our waitress, was so accommodating, sweet, and down to earth! I was excited to come here after watching Ted Nivison's YouTube video, and it absolutely did not disappoint! The thunderstorms were neat, the vibes were great, and I'd absolutely come back for another Lava Mud if I got the opportunity! Thanks for a great experience, Rachel!!

I love the Rainforest Cafe. I came once as a kid, then not for years and years. I've been to two in the last two years, and they totally hold up.
I might like them even better as an adult. So many places like this have closed, or scaled back, opting for a streamlined boring corporate aesthetic. And Rainforest Cafe isn't immune; some have not survived. But those that have continue to be unapologetically kitschy and I appreciate that so much.
The tables look like 90s magic eye pages, the menu is 50% Island puns, the rainstorms go off every half hour and the animals all scream, and you can even get your drink in a light up cup.
And you know what? The food is really not bad. It's not the best thing ever, but it's really more solid than you might expect for a "gimmicky" place like this. And the servers are all so friendly. We had a slight issue with some dishes not arriving and the bill not being updated, but both were resolved apologetically.
It's really just a place that lets you enjoy the little things in an era where that's increasingly hard to do.

This weekend my family from Florida was visiting and so we decided to go see the Mall of America. They wanted to also go to the Rainforest Cafe.
Now I am a wheelchair user. When we came up, we spoke to the hostess and said how many in the group, and informed them I need a table that will accommodate a wheelchair. We were asked if I can "just park" my chair in a "stroller parking"
I can not simply park my chair. My chair is my legs. We politely explained that. So instead of parking my chair, we were stuck right next to the kitchen. Right by the entrance. The hostess rather rudely removed the chair closest to the kitchen and dragged it away without a word. I pulled up to the table and thought that was that. Within moments, I started getting hit. Every single time an employee came out of the kitchen they rammed into me. One point so hard the employee physically moved my chair (which is a power chair and is difficult to move when not engaged) I also got a large scratch on my back from that encounter. Did the employee apologize for injuring me? No. All I got was a casual "my bad" over her shoulder. I got fed up at this point and went to try and find someone to help. I first went to a bald man with glasses that was working on a computer, I said excuse me 3 times and he didnt even look up. So I tried getting the hostess attention, and was completely ignored. So on the way back to the table I found a member of the wait staff and when I explained that I keep getting hit by staff as they exit the kitchen, the staff member demanded to know "what i want her to do about it" I said well if we cant be moved, is there any way you could go into the kitchen and ask everyone to please be mindful when they are turning out of the kitchen. The lady ROLLED her eyes at me and walked away. Nothing stopped. When our waiter finally decided to make an appearance, I tried asking him about talking to the staff so I stopped being hit. He acted like he couldn't hear me. Funny how he heard my order, but soon as I had a complaint, he pretended to struggle hearing me so I just gave up.
I want you all to imagine what it is like to be treated like furniture. To be treated as if you don't matter. That's what the staff at Rainforest Cafe did to me. If you are disabled, avoid this place at all costs.
Shame on you Rainforest Cafe. Do better.
*photo included to show my location. I use a jazzy mini wheelchair, not a large one, this chair has a 17.5" turn radius and doesnt stick out much further than a normal person sitting in a normal chair. I can't imagine if a larger bodied person was sitting in that spot. Maybe don't put people in that table if staff can't avoid hitting them.

This is a neat place to visit. But I dont know if I'll want to come back. The atmosphere is very cool, the portions are filling, and they cleary use good ingredients but to me everything tasted super bland, like anything labeled Cajun seasoning needs to have spices. And the steak and shrimp i had tasted like the never met salt of or pepper.
The shrimp had a sweet chillies sauce. But no other seasoning that I could taste or see. The veggies too tasted fresh but for seasonal veggies a few bell peppers and zucchini is a combo that needs some seasoning. If the price was better I might not be so particular but the price was high. And I expected that but I also hoped the food would feel worth it.
