I’ve had some really disappointing experiences at the Rainforest Cafe at Mall of America in the past dry, bland food and not the best service- but today completely changed my opinion. Our server Rachel went absolutely above and beyond with her customer service. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. To my surprise, the kitchen absolutely nailed the food this time too. The chicken was juicy and perfectly cooked, the shrimp wasn’t overcooked at all, and the Pastalya was honestly phenomenal like years ago. Everything came out fresh, flavorful, and way better than expected. Rachel truly made the experience memorable for my daughters 21st Birthday lunch, and she deserves recognition for the amazing job she did. Thank you for turning around what had previously been a negative experience for us and the Pastalya (our favorite dish). We’ll definitely be back soon! Give this chef a raise.

I have never been to the new location up on the 3rd floor. It looks close to the same but they dialed down the mist a lot. Lol. They were late on our reservation by 10 minutes. When we sat down the waiter was great out the gate. His name was Daniel. Its so load in there that it was hard to hear him talk but we got order in. You have a talk really load to address the other members of our dinning party but its ok since its kind of for kids and not for business. Lol. The food came out pretty quick however they were missing a lot of the sauces on the side. Not the worse. One of our drinks didn't come until about halfway through so that was a little bit of a problem plus it was one of the bottomless drinks. Make you wonder. The food was plentiful but ultra bland. The fish in chips had no differing flavors between the fish and chips. Very bland. The taco salad looked great but again tasted so bland. It was like the ground beef was used for all the meals instead of just taco seasoned meat. What i can say is the waiter, Daniel was excellent. He was patient, knowledgeable, and did everything he could to make it the best experience. The scenery was pretty cool still but its not the same as it was on the first floor. The food was quite underwhelming especially for the price. However the food service was quick. It was very loud. We won't be back and I would only recommend Rainforest Cafe if you have some young kids and have never been, otherwise dont waste your time.

My husband, my in-laws, and I went to the Rainforest Cafe on a whim, and boy, was it a joyous experience. They were in from out of town and wanted to visit MoA when we found ourselves at the entrance of what would be the most exciting dining experience I've ever had. Upon being ushered in to the dining room my senses were titilated. I was immediately so overwhelmed by the environment: fake vines, animatronic gorillas, and a fake thunderstorm, it felt as though I had been dosed with acid. We had drinks. I had a Cheetah Rita, which was pretty good. We shared the chicken quesadilla app- it was fine. The service was "meh". But I don't care. The vibes were immaculate. At one point a cameraman came by and took a few shots of us. I was so excited by the Whole situation he gave us a some free photos (normally $15 a piece). It was all completely absurd. Why are we not talking about the Rainforest Cafe at all times? If you're a fan of the absurd and want to enjoy what is almost a psychedelic experience, please go. I honestly feel like I have a new take on life. Life is short and can be so difficult. Do yourself a favor; take your favorite people, have some "alright" food, and immerse yourself in the insane.

Never experienced such bad service in my life. Went here at 4:30. 2 kids 2 adults. Asked if we can get a booth and we're told booths are not available until 5. Surprisingly, the same exact booth we asked for was given to another party of 4 and it was not 5oclock. They were also seated with drinks and water. While we havent even serviced although we were there first. We were put at an awkward table that was so bad, the waiter dropped a glass of water and I got drenched. When i asked to be moved we were told we can leave. We asked for a manager and it took 20 minutes just to even talk to one. He was just as rude. Extremely passive aggressive and could care less. I hate to play the black card but we weren't loud, rude, unpleasant or demanding and was pretty much just neglected. They clearly did not want to service us. It was very bad and we can see why there were no black people there. They truly do not want us in that establishment

Many of the animations are not fully working, and are noisy in their mechanical workings. They did t used to be several years ago when I was last at the Mall, so it shows a lack of maintenance. Beyond that, the food is just alright. I'd bet money nit was all processed and ready to heat and eat when it arrived at the restaurant based on the appearance at n ours and other tables. And there are onions in everything! Meatloaf has semi-carmalized onions, crispy fried onions, and then steamed onions all on the plate. Even the cheese curd appetizer has crispy fried onions! It is the listed that way on the menu, but that's what you get. It's very dark inside the restaurant, cant even read the menus. Bring a flashlight. Heartburn from meatloaf... first time in a long while. We went as a small group for my son's birthday, his grandparents wanted it. I. The end no one enjoyed their food. Not the salad (too spicy!) nor the cheeseburger, the pasta or the meatloaf. It was certainly edible, but even my wife commented that grandma's meatloaf was superior in every aspect, including temperature since our were all served cold (potatoes were piping hot from the salamander though). All in all, this location isn't worth your time or money. Try another.
