It's not often I have a day off from work, and even less often when I choose to spend some time of that day dining at an establishment. In a hapless move, I thought I'd dine at Margaritaville as I had never been to any of the Jimmy Buffet themed locales before. Despite my latitude not changing, this restaurant would change my attitude. Walking in, it was clear that Margaritaville was serving the exact purpose it was created for: a Boomer paradise. The entire place was filled with elderly parrot heads who, in their long ago hay day, probably had one too many dances with Mary Jane. Soon after arrival, my party and I were promptly seated at a booth where the table had not one, not two, but five photos of Jimmy Buffet on it. The forced love for Jimmy these establishments must have is stronger than the forced love Quebecois have for a country they've never been to. After being seated, my party and I each ordered a Dragon Fruit Sparkler mocktail (#PinkDrink!) to get our inner mallgirl on. Unfortunately, our inner mallgirls were left unfulfilled as the mocktails were served in glasses about the size of two hamsters perfectly stacked upon one another (miniscule at best). Speaking of stacks, we also got an order of mozzarella sticks. The chef was clearly a wannabe Lincoln Log enthusiast with how they were stacked, but the tiny, sprinkled on pile of cheese left me questioning his design choices. Moving on from the mediocre mozzarella, my party and I ordered two things: the Chipotle Steak Bowl and the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich. Let's start with the Chipotle Bowl. Now, I myself did not consume any of it, and thank goodness I didn't. The bowl it was served in was as small and hollow as Jimmy's recent record sales, which wasn't helped by the fact that the beans weren't strained, staining the rice like the ocean after a BP oil spill. Jimmy's many charitable contributions like the manatee foundation would never stand for this, so to say I was shocked is an understatement. Moving on, the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich featured a slice of Monterey Jack atop a honey slathered piece of chicken with mayo and pickles to boot. It was nothing to write home about, and was not nearly as spicy as I was expecting it to be, but then again, neither is Jimmy's music. After we managed to divulge our ordered nutrients, our waiter, Taylor, whom I can only describe as someone who was trying their best in an environment that made them utterly anxious, issued an announcement to the restaurant. One of the social security account holders present was celebrating their birthday. Not only that, but it was their 67th birthday too. Have you ever seen a room full of members of the Boomer generation hit the 67? I have, and I saw it at Margaritaville.

Yes I know it’s cheesy going to a margaritaville inside of the mall of America but this location was superb! Relaxing experience, good strong drink, and great service! Matt is a personable and friendly bartender. Would visit here again for sure!

Food and drinks are amazing, love the bartenders working there - Joe, Brennen and Matt. But the management is HORRIBLE. Just witnessed the manager kicking out a paying customer for no reason, she was just chilling at the bar and drinking a cocktail and the manager just kicked her out. Meanwhile, there are paying customers being a mess and they weren’t being kicked out?? They were also out a bunch of stuff so I had to change my order a couple times because everytime I ordered something, they said they were out of the ingredients!

Jeffery was amazing waiter. It seemed like he was managing a team of servers. He recommended the salmon for my aunt. It was so delicious. He was prompt and always ready to help. Coming from KCMO to MOA this was an enjoyable experience. I’ll be back.

If you are limited on time, please skip this restaurant & go somewhere else. They take forever for everything. Food & service is decent, but hey messed up our food order which we had waited so long for already so just decided to cancel and not have them re-make. Definitely in the more expensive side.
