- GMGS Mom6 days ago2.0I’ve been to several Bubba Gumps but this one fell short and was very disappointing. Never expecting a Michelin meal, but consistency. Let’s start, immediately the manager went to the hostess with customers in front of her and scolded her for sitting customers in a particular section. The server was off, can’t really put my finger on it but something was just off. While she was friendly, I had asked for a few items that never made it to my table. She was also a little dismissive; I asked to make sure my daughters food didn’t come in contact with seafood and she shrugged her shoulders and said “maybe” — we know it’s primarily a seafood place but we’ve never ran into an issue previously. The food was yuck. Grilled shrimp less than grilled and not hot. The steak was just blah. My daughter said her pasta was cold and the chicken wasn’t cooked. We didn’t eat much of anything and left less than 40 minutes of being seated.

This time around, we ordered the fried pickles, jambalaya, and shrimper’s heaven. The fried pickles are excellent, not too much breading. The shrimp dish was good, though the tempura shrimp were a little more breaded than I like. The jambalaya is a favorite of ours. Our server was great— easy to talk to and made sure we had everything we needed.
