I vacation in the TC area every year. I ate here last year shortly after they opened (before they had their liquor license anyway). I got the lamb vindaloo (ordered it spicy) and it was one of best renditions I’ve ever had. It was so good that I made it a priority to go back there again this year. I got takeout this time: mango chicken (medium spicy) and lamb vindaloo (Indian spicy). The medium spicy level was about where I would expect it to be (not especially spicy). The Indian hot was not. The vindaloo skewed a little sweet, which would be ok if it had more vinegar and heat to balance it out. Still a delicious dish mind you, but it wasn’t much hotter than the medium hot. I expect Indian spicy to make my head sweat. That just wasn’t the case this time. So, if you’re going to offer a top-tier spicy option, please don’t dumb it down for the general public. I’ll go back again next year and see where things have settled. I’m really rooting for this place.
My dad and I went to Indian Garden last night for our first meal in Traverse City, and couldn't have asked for a better experience! Quick and attentive service. We shared the salmon tikka masala, mushroom saag and mixed vegetable curry, all of which were delicious. The medium spice level still had a nice kick to it, which we loved. If we lived locally, I'm sure we'd come here much more often

Never gonna order from here, had to wait almost 1 hrs for pickup, I waited more then 45 min inside the restaurant and they keep saying your order next. At least they have to give the time, doesn’t make sense in every 15 min when i ask they say 5 more min. Its been more the. 45 min waiting, they still saying 5 more mins. I am writing this review while waiting at the restaurant, i am not sure how food taste, coz i am still waiting for the order

Absolutely amazing experience! The food was outstanding. Every dish was packed with flavor, and honestly, you can't go wrong with any of the curries. Everything we tried was fresh, authentic, and delicious.
We were a group of 15, and the staff did an incredible job accommodating all of us. A special shout-out to our server, Minnie, who was absolutely fantastic! She was so friendly, attentive, and incredibly patient with all of our dietary restrictions and special requests. She made sure everyone felt taken care of and kept everything running smoothly despite our large group.
Great food, exceptional service, and a wonderful overall experience. Highly recommend this place, and we can't wait to come back!

This place survives entirely on being the only Indian option in town. The food is decent, but it completely lacks authentic flavor and effort.
We ordered the Harabhara Kebab, Paneer Jalfrezi, Palak Chana, Roti and Naan. Everything was overwhelmingly mediocre. Honestly, someone putting time into a good YouTube recipe could make a better meal. If a friend served this at a dinner party, I’d be grateful, but at restaurant prices, it's unacceptable.
The lack of competition in Traverse City gives them a monopoly, which clearly reflects in the food quality. Passable if you're desperate for Indian food. If this restaurant were in a city like Dallas, Houston, New York, or San Francisco, it wouldn't last a year. I will not be returning!
Hopefully, they take feedback as a challenge to improve.
