About

Fast Food RestaurantBurger JointAmerican RestaurantCheckers Drive-In Restaurants, Inc
As the leaders in drive-thru for over 30 years Checkers & Rally’s locations are currently open and ready to serve our guests. We can provide our guests with the additional safety of an enclosed kitchen and limited personal contact – whether you choose to drive up, order ahead online, or have our food delivered. In response to concerns around the Coronavirus we have closed the few dining rooms that exist in the Checkers & Rally’s system and are limiting the number of people on our patio and at our walk-up windows. We are reinforcing our policies, including frequent and proper handwashing, along with the proper utilization and changing of gloves as we continue to serve our guests.

I placed a mobile order that said it would be ready in 3 minutes. My order included two American cheeseburgers, two fries, an apple pie, and a milkshake. I arrived on time, picked up my order, and drove home. When I got home, I found what appeared to be a hair or eyelash inside one of my cheeseburgers. I immediately drove back to the restaurant. The employee with burgundy hair and two braids was polite, apologetic, and tried to help. However, the person preparing the food had a very poor attitude. When I explained that I couldn't remember the exact name of the burger because I only remembered it was the $2 cheeseburger, they made me a replacement. As I was driving down Grand River, I checked the replacement burger before taking a bite and found it had lettuce on it. I know for a fact I did not order lettuce. In fact, I've intentionally been avoiding lettuce this week, so there is no way I would have requested it. I had to turn around and go back to the restaurant a second time. When I explained the issue again, the employee informed another worker, who responded with an extremely loud, exaggerated sigh of frustration. It was completely unprofessional and made me feel like I was an inconvenience for expecting my order to be made correctly after finding a hair in my food. No customer should have to make three trips because of mistakes that were not their fault. Between the contamination, the incorrect replacement order, and the unprofessional attitude from the kitchen staff, this was the worst fast-food experience I've ever had. I appreciate the employee with the burgundy hair and two braids for remaining professional and trying to resolve the situation. Unfortunately, the behavior and attitude of the person preparing the food overshadowed her efforts. I am disappointed that I had to waste my time, gas, and energy correcting mistakes that should never have happened. I hope this matter is taken seriously so future customers do not have a similar experience.
