I want to express my disappointment with my experience at the Jimmy John’s location at 35100 23 Mile Rd, New Baltimore, MI 48047.
On a day that was around 90°F and extremely humid, five of my coworkers and I placed a delivery order at approximately 12:40 PM. We ordered six Gargantuan Italian subs, bringing our total to around $100, and we also left a 20% tip.
By 1:15 PM, we still hadn’t received our order, so we called the store. We were told the food was already on its way. Considering the restaurant is only 0.7 miles away—a roughly 3-minute drive—we expected it to arrive shortly.
When our food still hadn’t arrived by 1:45 PM, we called again. This time we were told the driver was in New Baltimore and that we were the next stop. Yet another 25 minutes passed with no delivery.
Finally, at approximately 2:10 PM, after waiting nearly an hour and a half, we called back and requested a full refund because our food still had not arrived.
At that point, nobody wants to eat a warm, soggy sub or drink a beverage that’s been sitting in a delivery vehicle for well over an hour—assuming that’s what was happening. The entire experience was unacceptable, especially from a company that built its reputation on being “Freaky Fast.”
What makes this even more frustrating is that we tipped 20% and were ordering from less than a mile away. There was no communication about a significant delay, and each phone call gave us information that ultimately proved to be inaccurate.
Unfortunately, after this experience, our business will be going elsewhere. Today we’ll be ordering from Jersey Mike’s on 23 Mile Road because, based on our experience, they have provided the fast, reliable service that Jimmy John’s advertises.
I hope management takes this feedback seriously so other customers don’t have the same experience.
