Service started out good, then they got busy. Had to ask for things twice. My boyfriend got the jalapeño patty on his burger and it was legitimately the saltiest thing we have ever tasted. It seems the busier the restaurant is, the worse quality the food is. When it came time to pay, they charged our card and then gave us the itemized receipt, we noticed one extra charge, so the waitress ran the card again for a different amount, got the receipt, there was a duplicate charge on there. Finally got the third receipt and there was not an itemized copy, we had to ask for one to make sure they didn’t add anything else on. I hope they stuck to their word on refunding these charges otherwise the restaurant will be getting calls or the whole purchase will be refunded as fraud. The waitress wasn’t sorry, she couldn’t care less, first time we pointed out an item that the people next to us had eaten on our bill she said “oh”. Seems like this place cannot handle a crowd as the group to our far right had an extra charge on their bill too before they left. Check your receipt here. The food was below sub par for the price. The burger was inedible due to the severe level of salt. The rootbeer on tap was not good. The pub cheese pretzels were slightly burnt. Do not get the maple butter flavor on the wings, it tastes weird. I did get the chicka chicka boom boom drink and it was good, but it was $8 and the liquid filled the short glass about halfway. They also have a service charge (does not include tip) on all the food. Save your money, go somewhere that actually deserves to charge the prices this place does.

Food was fantastic! Had fish and chips and superior tacos. Service was good and prompt. Was surprised to find a 4% surcharge on our bill with no explanation. Had to ask the server. There should be signage explaining the charge ahead of time for those who don’t know it’s coming. Maybe we missed it when we walked in. When you are already marking up alcohol by 50% or more a 4% charge seems frivolous. Honestly, it leaves one inclined to reduce the overall tip as this is essentially a forced tip regardless of quality of service.

What's a treat! After arriving in town exhausted from a day of rock hunting on a Sunday, I was half expecting to have a standard bar and grill menu available to me. This is also difficult because I am gluten free. Let's just say that I was floored. This establishment offers an incredible array of food, including gluten-free choices that are tasty!
First of all the ambiance is wonderful. Ethereal Indy tunes were playing in the backgrounds creating a light contemporary atmosphere. It's located in an old building that has been refurbished. Sitting outside, I was able to have incredible view of the waterfront. If you happen to feel chilly, they have cubbies with blankets available for the patrons that decide to sit outside.
They have large assortment of taproom beers that can also be brought home in a growler. As far as the choices of food are concerned, they do offer multiple tasty burgers as well as a vegan falafel Burger. I decided to go with the white fish tacos. If a restaurant has fish tacos, I have a theory that if they are good then the rest of the restaurant is generally good. Let's just say they were absolutely incredible. There are other interesting sandwiches like a braised lamb shank with harissa mayo. Appetizers really look amazing across the board. They have Superior whitefish tater tots which is served with lemon aioli. Of course I ordered that and it was to die for. Other yummy options are beer cheese spread, smoked white fish dip, wonton fried pickles, lavender watermelon salad, and chicken wings.
They serve a homemade orange cardamom juice drink that was not too sweet and perfectly complimented my meal.
Of course they offer desserts and I decided on the ore dock root beer float, which is made with the local homemade root beer.
The whole staff was prompt, helpful and kind. Thank you for a wonderful experience Ahnah. Five stars with no hesitation. If I were staying another night I would definitely come back here to try some of the other fares.

We had a fantastic experience at Iron Bay Restaurant! The location right along the waterfront is beautiful, and the restaurant has a great atmosphere that feels both relaxed and inviting. It’s a perfect place to grab a meal while spending time exploring downtown Marquette.
The food was excellent from start to finish. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and well prepared, with generous portions and a great presentation. The service was just as impressive—friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout our entire visit.
We also really enjoyed the character of the building and the views of the harbor, which make the experience even more memorable. It’s a great choice whether you’re out for a casual meal, enjoying a family dinner, or looking for a nice place to eat while visiting the area.
Iron Bay was definitely one of the highlights of our time in Marquette. Great food, excellent service, a beautiful location, and a wonderful atmosphere. We would absolutely recommend it and will definitely be back the next time we’re in Marquette!

As a local, I’m grateful to have this place! I appreciate good, quality food that’s sourced with integrity—not another cog in the Sysco distribution channel.
Iron Bay sources many of their ingredients locally. Their menu changes seasonally (both food and beverage!) The culinary effort is impressive and appreciated—always something new and surprising but not too out there that it makes it unapproachable. It keeps me coming back!
Their staff is friendly and genuinely enjoy being there which says a lot about how the entire place is ran.
My favorite way to do it: walk in, grab a seat at the bar, chat with the bartenders, order a burger and….that salad with the bleucheese and an old fashioned. Mmmm mmm mmmm!!
